Hello, Someone commented below, but he did not really explain why. Leave a space between the plate and the head of the 2N4427, because the collector of this transistor is in the metal housing. That's why it can't reach RF power 1 watt.

Next time don't push the TO-39 style transistors all the way to the bottom. The 2N4427 usually likes to have a little gap between the bottom and the PCB. :))

Nitrobenzene is 100% correct. This transistor type has coupling issues (at RF frequencies) when in close proximity to ground plane (circuit board), or other nearby traces that could back-feed into itself etc. .... it IS “r.f.” We’re dealing with here. Cheers!

You can buy this kit from ebay - it has a special firmware blown onto a PIC - just buy it cheap enough-simple easy stable driver board built several of these for high end applications -and they are excellent. Great video fella , good job.
