as a hockey player this blows me away. that you can take a whole windup and whack someone as hard as you want legally. and these dudes have way less gear than we do. this sport has my respect
@andrewkim20135 жыл бұрын
You cant do a whole wind up. Anything more than 180 degrees is a slash and will get a penalty.
@chase18974 жыл бұрын
bullfrog you can't do a full windup it has to seem "controlled" and you probably won't get called
@mikeconron19374 жыл бұрын
As long as you make contact with the hand or stick it’s legal for most refs
@willdykema3 жыл бұрын
having played a good amount of hockey I can tell you they both hurt but hockey slashes (if they miss your pads) are definitely worst. difference is you get slashed 10-20 times a game as an attackman in lacrosse.

I remember that last year, I was using a crappy stick and I hit a kid so hard with a slap check that I bent my stick at like a 30 degree angle. I still keep it as a trophy in my room.

@Tony-wu5ow5 жыл бұрын
Is it legal in FIL rules for the shaft to hit the arm like that, even if the head hits the stick?
@350stonewall5 жыл бұрын
Since the composite shaft is hollow, I’d be interested to see some stats on how hard that slap check would be using a 6’ long traditional wood stick. Also, wood sticks should be allowed in the pro game.
@Ltmonte4 жыл бұрын
350stonewall you’d see broken bones. I agree that would be awesome
@shussey14464 жыл бұрын
Surely it would still hurt even with a hollow stick. That defender is using a lot of force.

You can cross check in the PLL?
@bobbyvanburen22635 жыл бұрын
You can cross check in pretty much any league as long as it’s not high or the hands are not super far apart. Refs realize it’s pretty much impossible to play solid D without cross checking.
@champnotchicken43185 жыл бұрын
Its a grey area. Technically illegal but most refs wont call it if its in the front and not in the head
@WazowskiAU5 жыл бұрын
You can cross check but it's limited by equal force. If you are trying to push through them, you can't use any bar otherwise you will be called. But if you run with them and apply pressure with the bar. That's fine, it's called equal pressure
