funny story I failed my first real nuzlocke to a flannary fight in which torkaols overheat crit 4 times. In total with the rest of my bad luck, the chance was 1/9 million.

For everyone. Not naming your Pokemon doesn't make the run invalid. Nuzlockes only have 2 main rules. Only the first Mon per area and if your Mon faints, it's dead. Just because most people use the nickname rule, doesn't mean that it's official.

Couple things I wanted to mention: I thought you could only catch one shiny Pokémon per area? I thought that was part of the challenge and it seemed like you caught 3 shinies in the Safari so not sure. Also, try to think of it from the Pokemon perspective. Here you are, their best friend. You train them, you evolve them, your the trainer your pokemon knows and loves. They get defeated and you just boot them from the party lmaoo

Do a challenge sometime where you can only get odd pokedex number pokemon. So for example you can only use Squirtle as starter (if you were to do Kanto) and not use Wartortle, so you'd have to switch train it but you then CAN use Blastoise again. And then for example you encounter a rattata, you can use that one but you can't use Raticate. etc. etc. Could be funny, but tedious as well
