I like to look at ploughing videos, they take me back to my farming/demo days back in the 80's. It was interesting to hear you mention turning round to the unploughed side at the headlands, exactly what i used to do. We don't seem to hear these useful tips on most of the videos on here! Also i found that if i measured a scratch mark around the headland and lifted up/dropped in half the length of the plough so the mark was still visible between the ins and outs, when i came to start ploughing the headlands off (with 6 furrows) i could run a wheel along the scratch mark to keep the first breed parallel with the edge of the field. I think it's very important to mark the headland out so as to leave as near a full breed as possible on the last pass. Nothing worse than having to run half the plough on what's been ploughed to finish the field. As you know, you didn't want your ins and outs where the headland tramline would be, especially with big wide boom sprayers that follow in due course. Maybe i haven't explained that too well but you'll know what i mean. Top work. 👌

Nice job, that's exactly how I would do a headland turn. No point in shunting backwards and forwards to leave a small headland. Its far quicker to turn as you do and have the plough in the ground and be going back up the field. A couple of extra turns round the headland to finish off at the end doesn't take long.

Now that looks like you know what you are doing looks really good nice job, done a little bit my self and enjoyed it but never that straight ha ha, do you rely on the front wheel in the furrow to keep it straight or have you got auto steer?.noticed your hands off the steering wheel, just curious, great video looking forward to the plow setup thanks. Bernard
@GEOFFKV60805 жыл бұрын
Hi Bernard, Thank you for the comment. Ive not got auto steer, just the wheel in furrow. With the plough set up right and pulling straight means the tractor stays in without me steeriing, if the plough wasnt pulling straight it would want to pull the tractor left or right
