I am not an expert, far from it. But wouldn't it be more effective to leave wider headlands, turn around in bigger loop instead of shifting direction 4 times with every turn?!?! I know it depends on size/length/width of field. But every time I see farmers turning like that I think it is bad for tractor's mechanisms. Maybe time and fuel as well. I mean - even if headland would have been 5-10 times the work width it is still 5-10 turns with shifting, instead of hundreds o more....
