You sure know how to get the job done . . . She sure was digging deep and flowing rolls beautifully. Reminded me of watching Andy turning dirt

I can remember back in the mid 70’s. I bought these plows for $75. We just bought a bunch for parts

Enjoyed the video very much. The old tractor/plow combination seemed to work just fine. I really like the look of the 450 - especially with the wide front end.

Thanks Charlie! I also like the lines of the hundred series Farmalls.

I believe, those colter frames had a jointer point that was set to nearly scrape the rolling colter. I had 4 of them but never had the colter frames to attach them to. The plow did well.

Thanks! Happy to have the coulter frame mystery solved.

I have no idea what the bracket on the Coulter is ? In 1957 Dad was using a M, and 3/14 MM plow. One of my brothers would use the H, and a 2/14. I know that because we still did that in 1974. Thank you Pete

That should give some green manuring effect. I used to have a plow just like that.

Good day Pete I am surprised those r for skimmers, to turn trash in furrow Up here yrs ago we had narrow points, I think they thought wide bottom would not go in. Those coulters must be older? I don't know What gear 2nd? Good luck Ths
@farmerpete3 ай бұрын
Hi Don! Thanks for identifying the mystery parts. You're right, 2nd gear. Pulled pretty hard until it got scoured.

@@farmerpete I was thinking dad bought new plough #36 3 pt 3 furrow narrow plough share in 69??? I guess other people were using wide bottom. Don;t know much about them We had a ford wide share at the end. Ths

That plow did excellent with that tall grass I was really surprised lol. Most everyone I see on here with plow videos they done already mowed it or chopped it with a disc 1st or going over crop residue. Makes me want a 3 bottom for my M lol

Thanks! I wondered how it would do with the tall grass. Did just fine.

The brackets on the coulter arms are for jointers or skimmers as the English call them. They really help when plowing under lots of trash, but everything has to be set perfectly.

@@farmerpete I like sanding. I was taught to clean and oil my tools so they don't rust when I was 7 yrs. old. That man was our age 61 yrs. ago. He's gone now but not his knowledge. Mr. Rayford was his name.
