Plowing With A 2011 Honda Odyssey & SnowSport 180 Plow Long Video

I've owned this plow for about 3 years now. I've used it a lot here in Upstate NY. This year we got a ton of snow. Last year we hardly got anything! I have had this plow on a 2010 Explorer Sport Trac, a 2012 Kia Sportage and now a 2011 Honda Odyssey EX-L minivan! It works very well. It has saved me a lot of shoveling. Especially at the end of the driveway where the town plows push and pack all the snow during the day when I'm at work. All you need is a 2" receiver and you can mount this plow on nearly any vehicle.

You are such an awesome guy for going the distance of showing us fools what to do, how to do it with your Odessey! I have a low profile tire car and need a mini van for my kids, but also want a good snow car.. I don't want to do a Subaru because I don't think I can go back to sitting on a hard block seat. You just sold me on the Odessey as best bet for me and my kids and I'm taking notes on name of the plow. THANK YOU!

best little plow rig ever...beat the snot out of mine, love being in the warm truck and this thing just WORKS......Damn even DR Power sells them now ( or bought them? IDK)....If your'e considering this thing , buy it...!!! I bought the front hitch, which makes it easier(on a Toyo Tundra) best $$$ I've ever spent... !!

Try the AWD Dodge Journey with a plow .

George Lee A Dodge Journey is not even in the same league as an Odyssey. You don't need AWD to plow snow. You need weight and traction. A minivan is typically over 4300 pounds. With snow tires, you can do pretty much everything a home owner would need done. AWD isn't as important as the quality of your tires for the application you're using them in. All things being equal, an AWD will give you an advantage if you get stuck. Which is actually difficult to do with the setup in the video. The only time I have gotten stuck, was if I went off grade (driveway is above grade) with just front or just the rear, with ice under the snow. In which case, AWD may or may not have helped.

Why didnt you use your awd honda Crosstour?

The Crosstour is an EX-L, like the Odyssey, but unlike the Odyssey it didn't come with a hitch or a backup camera. Plus, my wife goes to work at 4am and has a really long commute. So the Crosstour isn't really around when I need it.

It was a great vehicle. I traded it with 130k a few years ago. It had no issues. It's a super small plow. It didn't feel like much more than pushing snow with your bumper. That Odyssey had a trans cooler the first owner installed or had ordered with it.

I'd completely disagree. This isn't a plank. It's a pretty strong extruded aluminum structure. I could make something if I had the stock, the time and the skills. Which I have none of. I still recommend this. It's a very inexpensive alternative.
