I used to make my spinach smoothie too, with berries and a banana but then I watched a video on KZbin about drinking and eating raw spinach and how it does more harm than good. So apparently the spinach is packed with nutrients, but you'll absorb more calcium and iron if you eat it cooked. The reason is because spinach is loaded with oxalic acid, which blocks the absorption of iron and calcium but breaks down under high temperatures. Whenever I used to eat it raw, I used to feel my body burning up, so I stopped. So best to dip it in boiling water for at least 1min before eating it😊👍

That's true. Spinach is better eaten cooked, + it tastes leagues better than when eaten raw. We have a dish called "palak-paneer", which is basically spinach gravy with cottage cheese. Defo one of my favourite dishes, and super healthy.
