I wonder how many games there were during the Steve Oemcke era that either didn't have the bell ring until after the third round or didn't have the bell ring at all. Along with the fact that they'd reduced the puzzle-solver's choice of three prizes to two, tightened the wheel right up (so that most players were lucky to spin the wheel a full revolution if that), made the round 2 puzzles small puzzles with minimal consonants and always sounded the speed-up bell in the third round, it just felt like they'd become so scared of breaching time constraints by this point
