I have yet to meet a single person with any love for the Cybertruck.

Same. This is what happens when you’re a billionaire who surrounds himself with yes men (and women).

It is bought for status. Not practicality or looks.

I'll admit on the record that when they announced the Cybertruck I was very impressed with the numbers (price, range, interior and exterior space, payload, towing, etc.) but I'm not sure the numbers are enough to look beyond the design. -Travis

@@MrRaitzi maybe, but it remains to be seen if selling for status is financially sustainable for the cybertruck.

Love it! It will save me tons of research and clear many of my Google alerts. Will you keep us up to date with price release? For example I'm waiting for the Kona electric 2024 pricing for Canada. Great job! I'll be there for the next one

Definitely sprinkle in some 2 and 3 wheel EV news for us urban folks (though it should not be the main focus of this channel). The Yamaha segment was perfect!

If you made this a podcast I would love that.

Would you care to elaborate at all? Do you mean turning the news segment into a podcast? Or are you wanting coverage of a different topic? -Travis

I’m /exhausted/ by automotive designers just constantly hammering on “EV=futuristic” theming. It’s not 2007 anymore. Give me a normal looking car. These cybertrucks and spaceship-looking prototypes are just awful.

Concepts have always had the possibility of having an "out of this world" design but it seems like EV concepts almost require it. -Travis

Any word on the possibility of a Highlander Prime or Grand Highlander Prime from Toyota? Especially after their Lexus cousins got the PHEV treatment.
@emoney123111 ай бұрын
I think that would be great, but in my opinion the price would be too high. The RAV4 Prime is $15k more than a RAV4, so keeping that $15k gap, that would put the Highlander Prime at $52k starting and the Grand Highlander Prime at $58k starting. The CX90 PHEV feels like a tough competitor for a Highlander PHEV. But then again, Toyotas just sell even when they aren't the "best" in their class.

No word but certainly a possibility. Toyota has the technology, and has implemented it with Lexus; my guess is that it has to do with production capability. Lexus sells a lot less vehicles than Toyota so it makes sense to add the plug-in to the lower volume models first if there's production limitations. -Travis

@@emoney1231 yeah, you’re probably right about the cost. But I think they’d sell as long as the inventory is there. I know that if they were to come out with a Grand Highlander Prime, I’d probably seriously consider replacing my Pacifica Hybrid with one.

@@EVBuyersGuide Thanks Travis! If the timeline between the redesign of the RAV4 and the release of the RAV4 Prime is any indication, I’m thinking probably ’25/‘26 MY timeframe for a Grand Highlander Prime. I guess we shall see
