Plugin Alliance HG-Q from Black Box Analog Design

Greetings everyone! Here is an opportunity to see how the creator of the HG-Q (along with Eric Racy) puts the EQ to work. I don't do professional reviews for a living as I'm just an audio engineer/designer but I thought you might enjoy seeing what I had in mind when conjuring this thing up and how I use it. Note: I'm really aggressive and it is like discovering that your grandmother made your favorite cookies out of fire ants and rusty razor blades.
The track I'm using was provided to me by Chad from United. United makes some great audio products. The song is Deconstructing Anatomy by Suture from Louisiana, they've been active in the underground metal scene since 1994. No longer a performing band, they still are releasing remixed/remastered editions of their discography and other collections like demo collections, etc. The band was founded by Jason McIntyre, who went on to co-found Excommunicated and Voracious Scourge with death metal alumni like Adrie from Sinister and Tony Choy from Atheist/Cynic/Pestilence. They don't have a website but can be referenced on Encyclopedia Metallum and on Spotify.

When I first showed the prototype to Eric, the first words out of his mouth were "we can't tell anyone about this!" as he thought it would be a secret weapon that only we'd get to use and I'm glad we didn't because that HG2 has become a studio classic. Go download the EQ and give it a whirl and tell me what you think. I'm thick skinned. :)

We'll be announcing that very soon and taking orders. Right now we're allowing the plug-in to suck up all the oxygen in the room. Plug-in Alliance worked really hard and we kinda put them through hell so they deserve their moment in the spotlight.

Great plugin as always, I have it on my master bus for a few days now and I'm never taking it out. Good video too, but I think 4dB on the vocals was too much, it makes the voice sound like it was delivered thru a payphone. Maybe 1.5-2 dB would have been more appropriate, but I get it, the idea was to show off the plugin, *not* master the song.
