I think the outfit and hair is a metaphor for the inspiration for the song. Think about it: black stripes=darkness, depression; white lines= scars (both hair and top) skirt= black with red- red= blood

This for a long time was my trigger song whenever I was depressed I turned this song on and I cut until the bath water was red until my tears were coming down so hard I could see clearly enough to do any more damage I wound up with about 400 scars maybe more on just my upper legs

FACTS: I was about 13-14 working on this with Mr. Minyard. He's in the ministry as far as I know. I used to attend church with him and his family. It was about me not wanting to go out with cancer. Torn between two worlds. And what it was like me learning from a girl at John Will Elementaty in 90 to hold my breath, learning to carve my girllfriend"s initials into my arm from a cousin in 91. Not wanting to smoke marijuana and cigarettes. And a whole lot else. From scratching and peeling my scabs to wanting to know and learning what it was like to be free, the tears dripping was about how I would cry in the tub with the water running and go into the living room with red eyes. My grandmother later told me "i saw.your eyes" when I told her about it. Brokeness. Growing up. Seperation from loved ones. Kids being cut from sports. Getting used to pain and seeing it. Being tough and not crying. 'I am yours' was like what I thought toward my father and mother but my grandmother. My stepfather had a thing with having us look him in the eyes saying it sternly. I think my father did too. Wanting them to look me in the eyes over their lives when it came time for truth. My mother used to cover me up on the floor when we were there for break or visit. She had custody of my sister. Had drinking problems and use issues. We didnt have central heating and cooling. Windows and porch would be wrapped with polyeurathane for winter. I was born with one of them there eyes thats a bit off. Nose too. I could see in my baby pic there was swelling around it. So, it was about family members. Substance use/abuse, murder, rape, physical abuse, neglect, verbal abuse... being Indigenous... becoming delinquent...around them... ...we had a box fan with 3 blades like that...for the porch... ...a tire swing... ...azaela bushes.... Oh she and they know who he is. But not me. Now she and you know.

Hi! I love the movements she makes I'm all her videos. Just imagine how you might feel to the point of needing to cut yourself(borderline personality disorder is the name for this type of self hurt). I She is a performer as well as singer/songwriter. Seems she emotes every kind of thought or feeling a person hurting them self might feel. A wide range of emotions. She wants to capture them all, as each one's feels hurts differently. This is what I like about Plumb. Universal in feelings of others. Wants others to know she feels their hurts (from happiness to great sadness) I just love her and am so happy to have a picture of her and I at a very intimate concert. I can relate to her because she writes about life as we live it. Raw, but truthful to the experiences we all share. Thanks for listening!
