To the gentleman who mentioned bowing to the flowers. I think this is a beautiful metaphor. Sometimes we are caught up in our work and the artificiallity of the environment that we live in. It is a beautiful thing to take the time to notice a flower. It shows our respect for the Earth and our respect for ourselves. Thank you for sharing 🙂

I don't want to create conflict or division, but I also feel compelled to speak in defense of non-human animals who can't. :/ While plants have their own ways of communicating and interacting with the world, and we should also try not to harm them unnecessarily, I can't feel harm of plants or minerals is morally equivalent to harm of animals. If someone had asked about using instruments made of human guts to play music, I don't think you would respond in the same way. The greater the level of emotional capacity and intelligence, the more deeply a being can meaningfully feel pain and suffer. Plants and minerals don't feel fear like animals do. If you could only save one from a burning building - a potted plant or a dog, you're going to save the dog, right? I don't think not being vegan or buying animal gut instruments can make someone a "bad person", but I still think it's immoral to intentionally and unnecesarily cause harm to animals. As was said, there are alternatives available that are cheaper and last longer. Why choose the option that causes animal suffering when you don't need to? 😣 I think the animals would appreciate me asking this for them, even if it makes some people uncomfortable. It's impossible to live and not cause any suffering. We should be able to forgive ourselves for harmful actions, but we shouldn't appeal to futility. We should be trying to reduce the harm we cause. Humans suffer most, then animals, then plants. Vegan diets actually reduce harm of both animals and plants, because farm animals eat a lot of plants. They also reduce harm to humans because they are healthier for both our physical body and our planet. If people feel guilty about paying companies to harm animals in order to make a product, I hope they will let their conscience guide them. I think they will enjoy the peace it brings them to act according to their conscience.🙏🐄🐖🐥🦃🐟💚

🤎🐾🐷🪷🐰💚🐱🐮🐜🐟🐓🌿 💙 🌳🕊️🦦🦚🦋🌱Vegans are often labeled “judgmental” or even “militant”/“dogmatic” simply for not wanting other sentient beings, often the most vulnerable, to be unnecessarily harmed, for wanting to mitigate exploitation and violence whenever possible and practicable. Isn’t our decision to pay for others to take precious beings’ lives and/or exploit their bodies for fleeting palate pleasure, “entertainment,” fashion, etc. the ultimate in “being judgmental?” While it may be true that humans are on a journey and can aim for our North Star (instead of taking precepts as “commandments”), isn’t it also true that other-than-humans are on a journey of their own? Why should theirs be cut prematurely short because of ours? May our ossified traditions die. May all on the planet and in the Cosmos live and thrive. 🪷🙏🏽✨💚🌍
