Peaceful co-existence can never be achieved if and when intolerance is inherent in the beliefs themselves and indoctrinated into believers at a young age. Growing up in an evangelical fundamentalist Christian made me painfully aware of this. I only escaped this by transitioning into an atheist. When one's religious teachings are diametrically opposed to doctrines and ideas taught by other faiths and world views social cohesion is difficult to achieve. Dialogue among faith holders only serves to expose these differences and often provokes argument, conflict or worse. I don't know what the solution is but in my experience interfaith discussion doesn't work... at least not for zealots and fanatics.

Ironically, your beliefs as an atheist are diametrically opposed to all religions the world over. You are just as intolerant toward religion as you are critical of believers. Your atheism does nothing to promote social cohesion as you arrogantly claim you are right and the majority of the world is wrong.
