Plus codes support for Place Autocomplete and Geocoding

Place Autocomplete and the Geocoding API now support plus codes! Plus codes are an addressing system based on latitude and longitude. What is the best part of all this? Find out in this episode!
Note: In the video we showed incorrect URL encoding for the Geocoding API request. Plus codes need to be URL encoded just like all the URLs in Web Services API requests. The encoding for the "+" symbol in a plus code is %2B. See examples of properly encoded plus codes here → goo.gle/3cV67iV

I'm all in for plus+codes but in my case, I want to build a database of 300 store locations for our field reps. In my test, only about 1/3 of the addresses entered have plus+codes in the response. What's the process for getting the response updated with a proper plus+code?

Can i use the plus code for delivery packages from Amazon?

You'd need to ask Amazon if they support plus codes as an address format. If they don't yet, they can use these APIs to add that support.

The plus code for my residence is inaccurate on Google Maps. It defaults to my neighbor's address. Thus, I am unable to use the Trusted Places feature and am constantly having to put in my PIN to unlock. It used to work just fine prior to June 1, 2020. How can I edit this? Better yet, how can I talk to a human?

Can plus codes returned from the geocoding API be stored locally?

Thanks for asking! Plus codes would be treated similarly to latitude/longitude coordinates. The terms of service for Geocoding API allow for caching these responses for up to 30 days, then they must be deleted. To simplify your update queries, you can store the Place ID value from the response indefinitely so that you can geocode by Place ID instead the next time you need it. cloud.google.com/maps-platform/terms/maps-service-terms#3.-geocoding-api
