Today we went out and got some supplies in preparation for hurricane Dorian. Hopefully hurricane Dorian makes a fast turn away from Florida in the coming days. Stay safe everyone!

I am so glad you found the flame flicker for the flickering of flames. My family of farmers found a flame flicker that was flung far from the forts of the Florida founders. Few features of Floridian fortuitousness and fortitude have followed former flame fanciness like that!

Stay safe guys and I would suggest down the road to invest in a generator... I have 2 of them for our home and I am glad I invested in them, because they come in handy if your electricity is out for a long duration.. (a few years back we had some terrible storms that knocked power out for almost 3 weeks and those generators really saved the day) Believe you me you will be glad to have it... It's one of those things that you don't want to buy, but your glad you did... You guys take care!!!

i moved to orlando 4 years ago [coming from a 15 y.o polish teenager lol] and i've had my hurricane experience haha. not pleasant but you kinda get used to it each year. my parents are currently trying to decided if we should evacuate, main problem is we don't know where to go to. hopefully dorian takes a turn and goes back into the ocean. stay safe yall x

I'm keeping an eye on the weather to. I'm in eastern North Carolina. Can't really say all for sure what you would need. Maybe a good book. Maybe power banks for your phones, and if you have Netflix you can predownload some movies. Walmart probably pre emptied the refrigerated and frozen stuff, they have refrigerated trailers to put it in that run on gas or propane. Sometimes they donate it to shelters. Hopefully it will keep turning out to sea.

Stay as safe as possible and PLEASE have a home stand-by generator installed to your house as soon as you can!!! It is money well spent and will increase the value of your house should you ever decide to move. After this storm passes and the stores restock go ahead and get your storm supplies stocked up. There are a lot of places that sell emergency MRI meals that would be worth investing in since they do have a long shelf life. Remember...a good home stand-by generator and some MRI meals and water packets....that way if you do come home to a hurricane you will be ready and not have to deal with the stress of running all over town trying to get supplies. We are praying that the storm makes a hard right turn and goes out into the ocean and misses Florida....

Stay safe! I went though a Hurricane too in Houston back in 2008, eventhough it was only a category 2 and we were fine in the end I'm not sure if I would stay for another hurricane. The wind is pretty scary.
