That black plush looks so much like Mothman!!! For those not familiar with Mothman he was a moth like man creature hence the name Mothman. He was first spotted on November 15th 1966 in the TNT area in a small town in West Virginia called Point Pleasant. For the next 13 months Mothman would send the town into a panic. Mysterious Men In Black began to ascend upon the town. On December 15th 1967 the Silver Bridge collapsed and there are people who said that they saw Mothman just moments before the collapse and they chose an alternate route. My late Great Aunt Libby had just gotten off the bridge back to the Ohio side just before the bridge collapsed. My Mom said that she saw the emergency vehicles that responded to the bridge collapse race pass her house. My Mom was born in Mason West Virginia but was raised in Syracuse Ohio. She was a senior in high school when this all happened. There is a Mothman Museum in downtown Point Pleasant West Virginia and a statue of the Mothman right next to the Mothman Museum. Every year on the third weekend of September they have a Mothman Festival. The John Keel book The Mothman Prophecies and the subsequent film starring Will Patton, Laura Linney, Richard Gere, and Debra Messing is based on the creature. Inside the museum they have police reports of all sightings of the Mothman, news paper articles from news coverage on the Mothman, and props from the film. Plus, a suit worn by John Keel and things from Harris Steakhouse. The Museum is owned by Jeff Wamsley.

I don't have any squishables of Mothman. I do have a big gray plush that I got at the Mothman Museum. I also have a smaller scale bean bag type Mothman plush that I got from one of the vendors set up outside a storefront when we went to the festival one year. I also have a plastic Mothman that I got at The Pointe. It was a little gift shop right next to the museum. However, sadly it closed. It was a husband and wife who owned it and the husband operated it on his own until he couldn't anymore and sold it after his wife's passing. I believe he himself has since passed away. He was one of those people from what we were told that had to feel extremely comfortable with you in order for him to open up to you. He must have felt that extreme comfort with My Mom and I because he really opened up to us and showed us his emotional side when we were in there one of the last times before he sold it talking about his wife. Now where The Pointe was is now a coffee shop called The Coffee Grinder. The Coffee Grinder is a great place with great coffee and food and friendly accommodating staff. I have Spina Bifida and I am in a wheelchair and one time we went in there to grab some lunch and only tables they had available were those tall tables and they saw that I was trying to eat while having my plate on the table and they went outside and brought one of their short patio tables in so I could eat my meal which was a taco salad comfortably. I miss The Pointe and the nice gentleman that owned it though.
