I have always enjoyed these buses at Yellow Buses in Bournemouth. The engine sound and the squeak they make when pulling away after slowing down is great. Fantastic build quality and built to last. I will miss them when they are gone!

@MarkeatonLord It is really great to still see these out playing their trade! Wish I could have seen them in their heyday though as you did. Always interesting seeing photos of them when they were new. Unfortunately use is wearing thinner by the day, with more Ex London Volvos arriving. Will be a real shame when they do finally disappear.

It's nice to see she is still earning her keep so to speak. The last time I saw her she was still with Trent all those years ago. I think she was used on the 92 or the 9.2 as it's known now. Great video, thanks for sharing =] Michael

@video47 She is a lovely bus! Such a shame these so rarely are used in service.

@MarkeatonLord If you go on the Plymouth Citybus website they have an inquiries form thingy you can fill out under the 'Contact us' heading. Ah well I was born in 94, so that's most likely why I can't remember the arrival. Hmm they were probably whisking past my hospital window when 'new' to Plymouth come to think of it!

@HSTChris Thanks Chris! She is indeed an absolute beast :-) Have a look at my video of LFJ 847W if you haven't already, Stu remarked she sounds a lot like a Class 37!

Indeed the gearboxes on these are beautiful sounding, lovely whine in particular from G615. Would have loved to have sampled these back in their hey day. Oh definitely, even at the age of 23 these still absolutely fly, such solid reliable vehicles. Unfortunately the last few have only got another 6 weeks before they'll be withdrawn for good. As it stands these are certainly the best buses in Plymouth at the moment; won't be the same without them.

They really do sounds glorious these B10Ms, fantastic machines. Indeed, this one, along with several others are still hanging on in there, working on school contracts, as well as 'extra' journeys on certain public services during the day, so they're certainly still working hard for a living, although it is strongly rumored that this will be their final year in operation with new Enviro 400s arriving in Plymouth soon :-(

@bristolvrboy Indeed it will be a shame when they disappear off the roads. I was only 4 or 5 when Trent sold these off I think but I can still just remember them plying their trade around here. I may just have to contact Plymouth Citybus to see when they intend on withdrawing them, who knows maybe I could get one ear marked for preservation. Watch this space.....

@MarkeatonLord Would be fantastic to see one preserved! They may be a bit beaten up on the inside after years of doing school runs, but mechanically they still seem really sound. PCB do look after their vehicles well, the engineering team are second to none. Would be lovely to see one in the red/maroon and cream livery. When were they sold on though, I'm trying to remember? 2000ish?
@MarkeatonLord13 жыл бұрын
@bristolvrboy Yeah it would be, do you know the contact details for PCB? Ooo no they were sold on way before then, it would have been 94/5 maybe 96 at the latest. I was 1 when they were new and I was about 6 or 7 when they were sold off, and I'm 23 now.

showbus.com/gallery/south/bournemouth9 these are the coach bodies Citybuses we used to have, much more comfortable and are almost exactly the same! Sadly all gone now...

I used to ride on the Alexander PS bodied B10M's that where used on the 243 to and from Bolton in the short time that Burnley & Pendle ran it before Rossendale bought it back and changed it back to the 273, Burnley & Pendle also started to use some Volvo B10BLE's as well which sounded feeble compared to the B10M's. When rossendale bought the route they used ISBe engined Dennis Darts which don't sound anything near as good as either, now they use a variety of vehicles from their fleet.
