In our video we explore Plymouth Hoe, discovering some highlights: which 'Beatle Bum' would you choose? and why is it called the 'wedding cake'? Watch to find out what we are talking about!
After exploring the Hoe, we make our way down to the Barbican. The Barbican is rich in history and buildings that the Pilgrims would have seen when they visited Plymouth in 1620. Of course it would have looked very different to them! Then it was a busy port with goods and people arriving and leaving. Today it is a modern marina with cafes, shops and the National Marine Aquarium.
This year Plymouth is celebrating Mayflower 400. The 6th September 2020 is the 400 year anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower, carrying 102 passengers to the New World to set up a colony. Join us as we uncover interesting historical buildings and facts about Plymouth at the time of the Pilgrims.
