Mr McGarvey, thank you for the 1976/77 season at St Mirren when my father took me to every league and cup match apart from the first game of that season. It was unbelievable - especially the 4 -1 Cup game at Love Street against Dundee United. My dad would have loved to have seen this interview.

Growing up in Kingspark, I used to walk along Menock Road, into Southwood Drive, to head along to St Mirrens Primary School every morning - and we'd walk past Frank's house every day - would always wave and say hello whenever we saw him. Bloody legend.

McGarvey was completely different to what I expected. A bit camp and touchy. Not many ex-players talk about their feelings so much. Just an observation not gay bashing.
