I praise Sri. Narendra Modi for sensitizing people towards cleanliness but I have a question too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is he really interested in making people aware of it............ A simple question would be that of giving importance to the people who are involved in the field of cleaning work. What is their social and economic status. On first sight it looks rubbish idea but believe me the main cause of India being unclean and unmanageable in terms of this is the Indian society. The time till people working in this field will not be given equal social and economical status it will not be possible to bring about a sustainable change in the present scenario. I would like to ask a question to Sri. Modi though I know that he can not reply......... How many so called upper caste people are cleaning and sanitation workers and if they are very less then why............ may be that why Mr. Modi or any other high government official does not clean a sanitary drainage...................I know I am going to have bang on this comment but I request inquisitive minds of India to think about it............Rest well.............Hindostan Zindabad

I'm happy that an initiative to make our country clean and hygienic is being taken. But I'm afraid this initiative would go in vain until a serious and drastic step is taken for this. People are asked to segregate the wastes and dispose them. But what I see is either people or the municipal waste collectors fail to so the job. Loads of garbage are still left to rot in the open. Even if waste segregation is being done properly, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan doesn't end there. I see lots people including the so called well educated ones hocking up a loogie and spitting out, chewing paan and again spitting the residue on roads, sidewalks, walls and wherever else they want. This is very dangerous as it can spread diseases like tuberculosis. I also come across many who urinate and defecate in the open. The excreta and urine of stray animals, pets, farm animals also add on to the trouble. There are public toilets constructed but their maintenance and hygiene quotient is pathetic. In fact public toilets are the best places to contract urinary infections. Even when I visited the bathrooms of homes of quite a number of people who I thought were aware of the basics of personal and domestic hygiene, I was left shocked to see the pathetic conditions of their own bathrooms. Toilets in the trains and local aircrafts aren't clean at all. Even the toilets of academic institutions, companies, stations, airports or any other work places and the so called posh public places like malls, multiplexes, restaurants etc. are not maintained properly. The poor drainage system is another trouble wherein the sewage water is allowed to run on roads where people are walking or driving. Many government and private hospitals which are supposed to ensure a hygienic environment aren't doing much to achieve it. Many restaurants are not following the health codes (if any) which are important for ensuring good quality food. Even temples and other places like parks are terribly maintained. Bird and animal excrements aren't cleaned property at all. And the list goes on.... There are a lot of countries which ensure a clean and hygienic environment by various means. The government in that country sees to it that people follow the rules and they are also made aware of the consequences of not doing so. Instead of requesting or asking the people of our country (including me) to follow the rules, the rules should be enforced on them so that they follow it no matter what.
