PM6665/PM6669 OCXO upgrade : final and improved version (part 3)

In this video, I show you the latest version of my OCXO upgrade board for the PM6665/PM6669 frequency counters, with a deeper look at the design, explaining some of the design choices and contemplating the final result.

good job . I recommend you add to the v reg circuit add a bypass diode between the VIN and VOUT terminals of the reg (reverse-current bypass diode) This is standard in Liner Voltage Regulators design

Thanks for the suggestion. The main power supply uses a switching regulator module. The other "power supply" is a voltage reference, and as such it should not see any reverse current. Which regulator were you thinking about? But you are right, when dealing with LDOs, adding a reverse-current bypass diode is good practice!

@@the_bootloader I usually use LDO of Linar Technology current source based example LT3083 LT3042 But this method is most useful for Basic V REG 78XX I use low noise LDOs Because I build a lot of V REF circuits Linar Technology makes the best regulator there is

Good idea on using the voltage reference. I have a PM6665 in the light grey case. I have the same VCXO too but always wanted to build a GPSDO with it. The results you got are impressive, but what 10MHz GPSDO are you using?

Thanks ! I am using a GPSDO from a GSM base station. It has its own OCXO. I plan to make a video about it sometime in the future, but in the meantime let me know if you have questions. Also I have some PCB boards left, if you are in the US and want to make your own OCXO using my design, let me know
