Its is well known fact that PMAY-G is a centre's flagship mission under the banner "Housing for All" and aims to provide a pucca house with basic amenities to all houseless households and households living in kutcha and dilapidated house in rural areas by 2024. However, looking at the current scenario, it is unlikely because no house under this scheme has been fully furnished/completed due to financial constraint and is in anticipation of 3rd phase installment. Besides, the cost of construction materials have surged rapidly, thereby, causing massive inconvenience to the beneficiaries. The assumed duduction from the 'poorest of the poor' would otherwise be utilized to give a final touch to the house for proper settlement. I hope the Local Self Government at grassroot level that represents the interest of the people and knows best about the living condition will involve in its affairs and apprise the matter to the higher echelon for reconsideration.
