hi from Ukraine. cool explanation. Such problem just happened to me, the bike stopped just in the middle of the journey. so, to make it short, the rusty sensor was replaced with a new one. it cost me 100 US dollars. thanks to the bike serviceman in my town.

You can “disable it” by gutting the wheel. You need a good circuit board though

Thanx for the video. Just a question. Have a 2003 Kawasaki zx636r and need to bypass sensor while waiting for new one. Want to check if everything else are ok on bike. Ground =0v, power= 12.5v. How can i reduce everything to get needed voltage to get it started? Need round about 4.45v on feedback. Any thoughts? Thnx a mil

@Mbari Peter , I thought with the tip over sensor being bad, that in itself would stop the bike from starting, even for that second, because the fuel pump would be told not to prime. Am I wrong? Thank you

Gravity still seems to force fuel down

From the service manual.. 'When the motorcycle is down, the vehicle-down sensor operates and the ECU shuts off the fuel pump relay, fuel injectors and ignition system. The ignition switch is left ON. If the starter button is pushed, the electric starter turns but the engine does not start. When the starter button is pushed, the yellow engine warning indicator light (LED) blinks but the service code is not displayed. To start the engine again, raise the motorcycle, turn the ignition switch to OFF, and then ON. '

Unfortnately when I was asking the question to the poster, who never replied, so double thank you, I was asking because after my ride home, then going to start it again, I could hear that it wasn't/isn't making the usual sound when you turn the key (like the 2-3 second whine noise). Now the specific bike I'm referring to is my 2000 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R, the A1 (I didn't make up the A1 part. I guess, and think, that the A1 represents the Unrestricted Model, whereas, for instance my icon/thumbnail picture is of my 2003 ZX-12R, which is called and labeled on the Title B2/ ZX1200 B-2. Like this one, the icon picture one, the 2003, the speedometer says 180mph, with the additional line that represents an additional 10mph; whereas my 2000's speedometer shows 220mph. I don't think the A1 represents Ugly Green, versus B2 being Pretty Green, cause that'd be an opinion.), and from shop to shop, now at the 3rd, with them adding in, ''it's also not getting spark'', and this is after the new/replaced ignition timing sensor, I myself am just starting to think that the ECU/Brain went out, and I'm not a mechanic, nor a Rocket Scientist, but I'm ready to, well, actually, if this 3rd shop doesn't have it nailed down to EXACTLY what it is at 6:59pm on Monday when they open back up, then I'm paying my bill at 7:00pm, calling AAA to get it to bring it home, and while awaiting the tow truck I'm gonna go on eBay, and either find and buy a 2000 ECU/Brain myself...... or maybe a baseball bat cause if I go the baseball bat route, I'll have the option of buying new, used, a 2020, a 1910, Aluminum, Wood..... heck, just that right there is sorta showing me the Smart Route. @@mikefl100 no problem.. My 2009 Ninja 650 wont start most of the time. Starter motor isn't getting power. Just get a click from the starter relay so im here to run the diagnostic which says the throttle actuator isnt working. But ive bought another second hand and the same F1 fault shows up. Any way whilst putting the starter relay back in accidentally bridged the terminals with the screwdriver and the starter motor turned (scared the shit out of me). So followed the manual on testing it for continuity and it's not right (im not a mechanic either so i might be wrong) so i've bought another relay waiting for it to arrive.

Where is this sensor located?

In the 2009 model it's in front of the rear wheel below the seat. It might be In a different location in newer bikes
