I think karma payback and free will both exists in the universe and we as ordinary souls don’t understand or cannot discern what is karma payback hence acceptance of treatment or what is then free will hence we don’t need to suffer and take action to protect ourselves … I think only meditation and connection with God will help us understand what to accept and what to fight back…. I have honestly asked this question many many times to myself esp when I hear about child abuse etc
