I just purchased the 737-800 model, and it was rather overwhelming at first. I watched a lot of videos on how to get started which is fun if you just want to get up and fly around. I wanted to know with the many options that PMDG had, which ones were to be more common these days as I would like my flights to be more up to date on the latest technologies. Your video, and sadly I wished I offered you some tea (yawning); was very impressive. The time and effort consumed in making this video had not only showed me "what on earth" these options were for, but you also explained them with high detail and how it reflects to other airliners not only UK based, but nationwide. Of course, with anything new, there is always a learning curve, however, there would be no way possible I would get an immersive, in-depth experience as I did in this video. I certainly appreciate you and very grateful that you make the time to make this video happen. I am very eager to look into your other videos as well as I know there were a few updates on the FMC from the time you make this video. Its ok thought, I was able to scroll through some pages to keep up with what you were showing. All the best to you good sir and Blue Skies.

Great explanation of all the options! Thank you very much! Even I have learned some more background info and details, although I know the PMDG Boeings since 2013 from the FSX. That's why I love content from you "Pro's" (RL-Pilots). 🤓👍

Very informative video. In addition to your presentation, it also gave me a chance for a real close up look of the cockpit.

Wow - Very thorough explanation of the options - I followed along in my FMC during cruise on a flight. Thanks for that! Since you mentioned Innsbruck - Would you ever consider doing a video demonstrating the procedure and how to use the FIX pages to fly it?

This is fantastic! Can you please also do one for the rest of the options (Simulation for example). Also saving panels which parts get saved in the plane and what does not, etc... Thank you!

May you tell us what the numbers represent in the brake temp? Are they rounded off to the nearest 100 deg C (or F?) or multiples of some nominal value? Thanks

Thanks for another fantastic tutorial... recently bought the 737-800 and have learned so much from your videos. I have inputted all values shown in this tutorial into my FMC but do these settings have to be saved as a custom panel state or are they just automatically stored in this aircraft?
@A330Driver2 жыл бұрын
Hi, airline options are tied to the registration of the plane so you don't need to save anything, it is all automatically remembered.

Several months later... still enjoying MSFS/PMDG 737-800 and constantly referring back to many of your video's. I am currently revisiting this one to check my FMC default settings, in particular, DEFAULT ACCEL ALT (16:40 / 1:06:50). I fly for a VA based in Germany and their SOP states 'standard acceleration height is 1000ft AGL'. So, I guess I should change the value shown in your video (1500ft) to (1000ft). But, what about the DEFAULT REDUCTION ALT please?

Can you set these to each livery?

Thanks for this useful video ! I have a question : I didn't make to record my aircraft displays (original lights for instance) even in the set up option when I start a flight, it is on LED lights again. Any idea ? Thank you again !
@MtheHell2 жыл бұрын
Normally the options should be saved to the aircraft registration automatically. In other words: The livery you chose and you made the changes should show the changes immediatly (the light switches e.g.). And if you choose the same livery some later flight again, everything should show up as you set it.

Are you sure to exit the sim via the in-game menus and not just by pressing Alt+F4 to close it? If you do the latter it might not save correctly due to a sim-issue.

@@A330Driver yes I save the file via the fmc first and via FS20. I don’t use the shortcuts. Thank you for your answer.

I noticed in some videos that you adjust heading/speed ect without using the mouse. How are you doing this?
