Hey Froogle, Normally the aircraft will climb to a safe altitude of 1500 ft where it wil set CLB thrust. You will keep your flap configuration until passing 3000 ft heigth (above field elevation). The aircraft should start accelarating to 250 knots at 3000 ft and then you start retracting your flaps according to the flap speed indications.

That auto time compression is just fantastic. Great little feature there. I am so happy that this turned out so well. I own all the other PMDG planes, now my collection is complete. BTW, have you flown the PMDG Jetstream 4100 Turboprop? It looks to be on par with the Dash 8, but I haven't heard anything about it.

It's not uncommon for ATC to lift the restriction on 250 knots below 10,000. This is especially true for heavies that request higher climb speeds, and they'll be awarded "Climb unrestricted, flight level ____." Heavy 747s and 777s frequently climb out at shallower angles of attack at airspeeds between 280-330 indicated. Of course, this depends on airspace congestion at the time of your departure.

The efb is on a second computer, and I overlaid the footage from that computer on this video. To get the aircraft to show up click the aircraft icon in the efb. This is all explained in the short manual included with the efb.

I use the chrono click spot to disengage it. I use the CDU because I like to see what it's set at and just double check everything, when I engage it

For the taxi on a 777(from the JustPlanes 777 Air Canada) the Capt said "right rudder pedal is a good centerline guide"

Hi Froogle. For time compression, there is another button by clock. If you right click on one of the clock buttons, time compression will begin.

You were talking about managing your airspeed on T/O. On the 767 while sitting on the runway turn on LNAV but NOT VNAV. Then TOGA and after lifting off turn on autopilot and FLCH and the speed resets itself to your CURRENT speed plus 5. The autopilot will then maintain that speed. Your turn ur airspeed knob as you want to increase it. Then activate VNAV when necessary. There are like 29 different autopilot capabilities on these more advanced planes.

Sorry didn't see it, youtube is too slow today for high def. :/ Wouldn't it still be possible that the temperature in the cloud drops and combined with the moisture, it could pose a risk of icing? Is icing actually simulated on this aircraft?

Clb thrust should be set automatically. You can select the amount of reduction on the performance page. On long runways or light weights you can choose to derate your take off. But you can also choose to lower your climb thrust. This way the changes of overshooting you target speed are reduced while still keeping enough performance. These procedures are from a B747 but I assume they will apply to the T7 as well.

take this tip, you can make a shortcut to turn the time compression on/off by right click on the CHR button in the clock beside PFD. you will notice that the digital clock turnes to the green/yellow color.

Froogle the correct glove fore Delta 777 is to set the flaps before stat to taxi that way if something goes tong you can esely taxi back to the gate

Hi Froogle. Love all your videos. One thing I would like to add about the speed limit below 10k. I was under the impression that any aircraft in the heavy category can ask ATC to wave the speed limit. 747 clean speed is usually slightly over 250 kia. It may even be automatic.

Froogle - u may want to make use of the clock for activating (and confirming) auto compression. Like u, I didn't think I'd use time compression for my flights but now it's part of my routine. If only my VA changes policy to condone it.

In the A310, at thr reduction alt/accel alt, thats when we go to clb thrust and retract the flaps and slats. Also, taking off with the fpv is no recommended by airbus interesting you chose it with boeing. Following the srs command by the FD during takeoff is a great way to keep you on speed and in the correct climb attitude while hand flying. Cheers, Great tutorial enjoyed watchin ...cheers.

About the EZDoc freezes...I get but if you kill it it Taskman and re start iEZDoc it returns to full function. I have seen this when using OpusFSX.(which I have LiveCamera disabled on).

The PMDG 777 has a RAAS system too, its just not default on the delta livery. Though you can force it on I believe.

I generally, try to increase the payload when doing short haul flights on the T777. It helps control the massive plane and is kind of realistic as carriers only use the 777 on short haul for the payload/slot issue/training. anyways payload increase upto 80% helps.

I'm having a problem. i did exactly what you did on these videos but each time i takoff and turn on the AP, the plane doesn't follow the route at all. the LNAV and VNAV are on but still nothing happens.

Did you use topcat? Maybe TO-1 was too much for a lightly loaded 777.

I wonder if the issue with the autothrottle/autopilot being sluggish capturing the speed during climb at low gross weight is a quirk with the actual aircraft, and that to alleviate it you would just derate to CLB-2 thrust when flying exceptionally light.

frooglesim Exactly the case, the auto throttle is designed to be comfortable for the self loading freight. The manual also cautions about altitude busts with low level altitude restrictions at low weights, as you saw, you reached 5000 very very quickly. T/O 2 with a del temp at 55 would be the norm on a sensible runway at low weights, followed by CLB2. The CLB thrust can be pre SELected on the thrust limit page after the T/O thrust and del temp are entered.

No we authorized a descent to the lowest level and allowed VNAV to control the flight path according to constraints. Same on take off.

If I was not wrong the limitation of the taxi sped is 30. Which means taxing around airport the speed must below 30.

How do u gentally apply brakes? If u fly with keyboard, doesn't the period key apply full brake so if u want to do it gentally u have to press press press that period? So how do u gentally brake?

I turn traffic off. It improves performacne first of all, and secondly lets me focus the video on that point of the video, not on other stuff like dealing with ATC.

If the FMS is unable to accurately calculate a turn due to load, performance constraints or weather it will do that. Quite normal.

Also if the aircraft is very light the correct procedure would be to use assumed temp or de rated take off. The chances are that the over speed would not occur. Not criticising. Just adding :)

I am thinking of changing from X Plane 10 to FSX the reason for this is because I have a laptop and it seems that X Plane 10 is very hard on my GPU and CPU and I don't want my laptop to become very slow in about two years time if I'm doing long haul flights. In FSX I have seen there is a turbo boost feature and you can speed it up to x64 when you do that does it just speed up the ground speed or does it speed up the whole sim? If it speeds up the whole sim I am probably going to switch. I have looked at your FSX or X Plane 10 video and I think FSX is more suited to what I need at the moment. Computer Specs: Ram: 16GB GPU:GTX 970m CPU:2.7Ghz turbo boost to 3.5ghz If I do switch I am thinking of getting the PMDG777 base package for FSX steam edition. What other addons should I get if on a budget of $30 for other Add ons without compromising performance? Great videos on flights sims they really are interesting to watch

Doesn't look like DX10... Not sure though. Anyways he's using various addons, like REX for textures for clouds, sky, water etc.and of course the PMDG T7 is a beauty. Looking forward to flying it as soon as I get to buy it :)
