And if you get bored in cruise between fuel and ALTN checks, you can click the button on the PMDG pens over and over. So nice of them to model those for us.

I also have a question. What if wxr requests don't uplink? I've sent so many requests so PMDG servers should explode😂

Thank you very much! To answer your question: The most common reasons for requests not coming through is if you have no inserted all uplinks on your FMC yet. Check the FMC COMM page to ensure any available uplink is indeed inserted. I've also seen some users who did not connect with the hoppie system yet and were therefore not able to receive weather.

Was flying the 77W from EHAM to CYYC earlier. Just after Greenland I got a SATCOM and DATALINK LOST. Accoriding to the non standard checklist it was just temporary. Eventually the message went away, but I noticed I lost my RNP/ANP indicator and the white LNAV/VNAV indicators nest to AP. The navigation still went well and I landed safely. Is there anything to do after a SATCOM DATALINK LOST error?

Landed cancun fine just now 😊. will check my effort against the landing tutorial when it gets posted. Thx for all your efforts. I need get used to the PROG page. I have a few questions im too used to Airbus. Theres no way to enter a WPT in the PROG page?. You can see current/next/destination only?

The FIX page is probably what comes closest to what you're looking for. Indeed, Boeing FMCs are quite different than Airbus ones.

Thanks for these tutorials, waiting for your next and I would like to see an ILS Autoland tutorial ( even if I think you will not use Autoland at the end of these tutorials 😶‍🌫 )

I know you pilots can't wear polarized sunglasses in the cockpit so I've always wondered if the sunshades are polarized?

I never saw any of the characteristic effects of a polarized sunglass when I looked through a sunshade, so I guess the answer is no.

Great video as always, but I'm having an issue with the flight information uplink where I don't recieve any messages whether it was ATIS or TWIP request is this a known issue or it's just me?

why the EICAS thrust ref is not showing CRZ in green but CLB?

That's a company option. CRZ is no "real" limit though, it's a maintenance limit to protect the engines - but there have been accidents in the past because full thrust was not available.

Just curious, I thought flight levels were even in one direction, and odd in the other. So is it valid to do step climbs in 1000 feet increments? Why wouldn’t they be in 2000 feet increments to maintain odd/evenness?

Hi, over the Atlantic you can request any level since traffic flow is usually determined based on the time of the day and most traffic flows into the same direction. When the vast majority of traffic flows into the same direction, why not make the most economic use of all available flight levels?
