PMQs: Sir Keir Starmer 'chose train drivers over pensioners', says Rishi Sunak

Sir Keir Starmer has faced Rishi Sunak at the first PMQs since parliament returned from the summer recess.
The prime minister and leader of the opposition clashed over winter fuel payments, with Mr Sunak asking the PM why he has taken money from pensioners and given more to "highly paid" train drivers.
Sir Keir hit back, saying "tough decisions" have had to be made to "stabilise" the economy.
Towards the end of their exchange, the PM accidentally called Mr Sunak the "prime minister" twice in quick succession.

Sunak always did the same. Though I do feel starmer did answer the question in this instance. They are ensuring that the 800k pensioners eligible for pension credit take it up and "align housing benefit with pension credit" Pensioners are the richest demographic in our society, 25% are asset millionaires. Personally it makes sense that the winter fuel allowance is means tested. I primarily hope that Labour increase the level of pension credit to bring more people into it.

If there was a need to remove winter fuel allowance and the cost of living payment from rich pensioners do not use a bench mark that is lower than the new state pension thereby making sure very few people will receive it. We tax richer people more income tax so use the tax levels to decide who are the richest pensioners.

56 thousand immigrants staying in hotels at a cost of just £100 per night for a year is equivalent to 2 and a half billion pound. 500 million to the French to stop the boats which are still coming arriving obviously wasted money. There's the money to stop our old folk freezing to death this winter but they don't know where the debt is coming from, so it's obviosuky coming from the pensioners that's the solution.
