Saw your comment just after I had made the same one. Love that movie and have the score on vinyl. Listen all the time.

The tanks I used are 7 port, 5 gallon air tanks sold for air rides and trailer brake systems and I believe the brand I have is Firestone. There are quite a few portable small gallon tank options out there that have several ports to choose from ranging $70 and up. The motion sensors are the cheapest plastic security lights at the hardware store that have the test switch on the bottom. $15-$20 I'll find out exact model and shoot out a video soon :) Thanks you two!

Nothing wrong with that buddy! If you ever do decide to give it a try just know all these low pressure tools and props built with factory made parts are pretty safe. We blow old cracked rubber hoses from the sun under pressure all the time and its loud but not that bad. I'd be more concerned of over inflating a tire not paying attention than anything else. Its the 1000 psi high pressure systems that get my attention and I haven't seen that being used in a haunt yet. When your ready :)

While putting a regulator on the input of the tank is a good idea I didn't because the tanks are rated for 150 PSI and my compressors max output is 120 PSI so when I had a pressure regulator on the input of the tank I had it unscrewed all the way in the open position anyways thus not doing much. Some day I hope to get a compressor with more output. Safety is always a number one concern and I appreciate the comment so thank you!

How did you put all those extra ports in the tank? And I'm still waiting on you motion sensor how to, lol. What motion detectors do you use?

How do you hook up the sensor to the tank? sorry newbie here thanks
@HollywoodHaunter5 жыл бұрын
So we hacked a sensor from a exterior light by wiring a male & female plug onto it. So you end up having a sensor plugged into your power outlet and then you just plug the solenoid valve into the female side. The motion sensor now becomes your on/off switch for the prop. It works ok but if you want more programming control you will want a prop controller instead like a picoboo for example.

Another great vid guys- why am I so hesitant to move into this next stage of haunting? I'm kinda just happy with small motors and static still I guess. I may have to put on my big boy pants before the years up!

I was lucky to come across a multi-port air tank(10 available ports) from a Mack diesel truck as my Supply tank.. slightly heavy but use a welding cart from Harbor Freight to transport it.

although you use your tank as extra storage i would personally put the regulator on the input of the tank, this allows the tank to be under less pressure (safer) and more airflow once the solenoid is activated, check out my videos! i did a quick video on mine :)
