Now it is clear. You shouldn't have replaced the door mechanism. the previous one was a two motion action, outward and backwards. It was more solid and futuristic. Make some adjustments yes, replace it completely for one slide pneumatic motion was a bad move.

A lot of times when i find old fiber glass replica projects, or custom 1 off projects etc. I feel like most of them get almost to putting glass in and then die. Or being sold with everything but glass, OR flat lexan riveted all over. This is one of those make or break hurtles.

If available, I would suggest tempered glass or a plexiglass over regular pane glass.
@andrew321553 сағат бұрын
He has a source for a 3-layer tempered glass sandwich with a polymer middle, like a windshield. A preliminary example of it was shown briefly in the beginning of the window fitting process. The single pane glass, acrylic, & metal is all about finding the exact 3D geometry the window needs to fit the car body closed, and be able to retract into the door. He needed a testing process if it can be done with a single curve, like it was cut from a gigantic cylinder. A compound or changing radius curve, like the window shape was cut from a large cone. Or if it had to be convex, curving in two directions, like it was cut from a large sphereoid, ovoid, or egg shape. And decide what would both fit closed, and retract properly into the door, and not move away from the tracks & weatherproof seals. Very complicated, even with computer software, and doing it that way can take longer, unless you are an entire automobile company. Where maybe one engineer out of hundreds, maybe does nothing but "window math." Then checks with a dozen engineers on the "Left door team" if what he has come up with will fit or not. 😅
