Best line is "Way beyond the point that it's fun" when talking about the 1300 3's. Made me laugh, but it's true! You need to have that commitment to continue doing it, the reward is far greater down the line. Thanks for sharing!

Another great talk. Thanks Brian! Think of how many MISSES Kobe had to power through to make 1300 shots per day. Mistakes and failure are integral to the process.

Great book and great ideas ;) Brian i liked that one about comfert zone and 1300 3's!! I write down what i do and is kind of fun about discomfort zone. I know you don't have free time so read it whenever you want! So: I've scetched a different way of comfort zone and discomfort zones. You scetch a cucle(like the sun) in the center and that is the comfoert zone. And then using the same center you scetch a lot of other cycles(like the trajectory of the planets in our solar system). You write in the first cycle what activities are comfort and then in the between cycles of every discomfort cycle what activities are discomfort. The more discomfort, the bigger the cycle. An when you reach 67 repetitive days of doing one discomfort cycle, then you paint it like the sun(this is the new comfort zone). And so on. If you want to make it fun you make a planet for every trajectory of discomfort zone and name it with the state of success or happiness that you ve achieved at that point. THATS ALL :)

Thanks so much for this great summary of George Mumford's book; I plan to show this to high students, with whom I am doing mindfulness training.
