Well done on the video. Followed it to a tee and no problem. Works great. Dropper post is one of those things you didn't know you had to have until you got one.

Took it slow, had moral support with a mountain biking buddy, and installed! Thanks for the great video! Used the Puget 2x Lever w/PNW Coast.

Dude, that was a freakin great explanation on how to install the Coast dropper post. Even an older guy like me was able to understand it. Looking forward to get one to put it in my bike. 🤙

Can you adjust the travel on the Coast Dropper? I need to lower it by maybe 1”-1.5”. But, I can’t find any instructions on how. Hoping that’s not an issue.

I have watched numerous videos on this post. All of them show the post having some give, either while riding or simply pushing down with the hands, I can see the seat going up and down. After many, many tries, it doesn't seem very 'adjustable' and mine doesn't move without a lot of force. The main problem I am having is, when using the High Pressure pump, screwing it on, pumping it up, then unscrewing, all the pressure leaks out. It seems impossible to 'adjust'? What is the trick? I want some suspension, I want it to give when I sit on it like I am seeing in all the videos. I am about 160 lbs. Any helpful hints...?

Hi I’ve just bought an external dropper post and put it all on my bike but it’s not working the lever isn’t working it’s just flopping down. I’ve tried tightening it with the barrel adjuster but it still won’t work. Is there anyway I can fix this so that it works. Thanks

Does the dropper function have just two positions {fully up and fully down} or is it variable height? Thanks in advance.
@PNWComponents
@PNWComponents 4 жыл бұрын
Hi James! The Coast Dropper Post can be used at any point along its travel. When actuated in the "down" position, the dropper post will stop raising as soon as you release the lever. Hope that info helps! If you have any more questions for us, feel free to reach out to our Customer Care team directly via email at info@pnwcomponents.com.

Will the cable rub on the frame and wear it out and reck it?
@PNWComponents
@PNWComponents 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jordan! The cable that connects to the lever and dropper post will run inside a tube of cable housing. The cable will move within that housing when you push the lever, but the cable housing does not move when you actuate your dropper post. You can use zip ties, electrical tape, velcro straps, or other fasteners to hold the cable housing to your bike so it doesn't bounce around when you're riding. That should keep the set up from wearing a mark on your frame!

Mine is not holding position (all the way up, sit on it and it sags all the way back down), any tips for trouble shooting this?
@PNWComponents
@PNWComponents 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Our quickest recommendation is to check the air pressure of your Coast's air cartridge. The Coast is shipped with fairly low pressure in the air cartridge for safety reasons, so if you haven't added air with a shock pump that would be a great place to start. I'll leave a link to our recommended pressure settings video below. If changing the air pressure of your dropper doesn't fix your issue, please reach out to our Customer Service team via email at info@pnwcomponents.com and they'll get your dropper post sorted in no time! @@PNWComponents This is what was wrong with mine. I pumped the pressure but my pump is old so it loses pressure when disconnected. I'm waiting on a newer better one that doesn't allow pressure loss. I just got the post so I'm still figuring out all the little idiosyncrasies. Hopefully the cartridge isn't losing pressure on its own. I'll check the Schrader valve if it does.

Where can i find the air valve
@PNWComponents
@PNWComponents 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! The air valve on the externally routed Coast can be located just below the saddle clamps near the top of the stanchion (4:35). On our internally routed dropper posts, the air valve is located underneath the saddle clamps on top of the dropper post. To access it you will need to remove your saddle, saddle clamps, and the cap of the air valve. Let us know if you have any other questions!

@@PNWComponents yeah my dopper doesn't have an air valve on the top or bottom of the seat where can i find it or is it a nonair dopper?
@PNWComponents
@PNWComponents 3 жыл бұрын
@@wrmountian4538 Hi! The dropper posts that come with an adjustable air cartridge are the Coast, Loam, and Bachelor. If you a Rainier, Pine, Cascade or Ridge, your dropper post comes with a sealed cartridge that won't have a valve for making adjustments.

Useful video - but dropper post on a drop bar gravel bike... really?
@PNWComponents
@PNWComponents 3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! We love having a dropper on our drop bar bikes (road bikes included) for when things inevitably get a bit more rowdy or bumpy than expected. Dropping the saddle really helps us get into a lower, more stable riding position and when we're riding through town we really enjoy being able to drop the post at stop signs/lights and easily put a foot down. Basically, having droppers on drop bar bikes helps us feel less awkward and more confident 😅
