@@tim.martin The game was built around accessibility for shorter/younger players. The Japanese version being hiragana heavy (there is also an English version) is also a further proof.

I never get one of this or the original arcade games at anywhere the only thing i got at this time is Daytona USA, CCE, 2001 and the Xbox 360

Never seen ridgracer played without drifting before. Is it impossible in this pocket version, or just fast to bump the walls?

This game does not have a way to brake, and it doesn't seem that it's possible to drift by briefly letting go of the accelerator either.

​@@arronmunroe thanks. You got me inspired to play this now. [edit] inspired to play and confirm there is no drifting. The signature feature of ridge racer gameplay was the zaney exaggerated drift mechanic. To see the drift is gone, the game lost its charm.

If you hold the view change button as you select the car, it changes the type. You can also change the car type in the service menu.
