If you want to have a private jet experience without owning a private jet the best way to do it is something like "Net Jet". Basically a time share for private jets. You pay a monthly fee to use it a few times a month. You share the use with other investors. The net Jet company pays pilots, maintenance costs and so on...

I can name many parts that cost 5 digits that's not even engine components. Then ob top of that jet fuel is expensive. Buying a plane, you have to charter it out to keep up with the maintenance. I found out the same when I was looking into buying a boat vs buying a house. I ended up buying the house because of the size of the boat would need a crew, maintenance, habouring fees, insurance, etc. A $300000 boat would cost me around $30000 a year to maintain vs my current house which is around $3000 a year. Mostly insurance and taxes.
