I have the older model and it's amazing! While the battery is not that great, I love the fact that you are getting the android experience on a tablet. After seeing the review I must say the 2014 is a much better in terms of specs and design. I might consider upgrading to the 2014 model.

Interesting review by 'Kermit The Frog' on speed and maybe a key or two lower in voice. Suggestion-be a little bit more original and keep it simple. What about the ability to add a SIM card and make mobile phone calls and other relevant practical stuff?! What about the ability to connect to a larger monitor or TV?! Get it right next time...

they have an app store which is a great start for an OS plus they have the biggest market share of all android phones which means developers will focus on their OS more than WP8 evenly

it all comes down to what you need the tablet for. if you need a simple, reliable experience with a wide array of tablet apps, the ipad air is for you. however, if you prefer the customizability and freedom of android, the most powerful mobile processor for android (if you dont count the tegra 4) and features like multi window and S pen, then you should go for this tablet.

I own this tablet currently, and found the lag to be noticable. It got worst after an ota update. However the guys on xda recommended a factory reset. Boom, it's smooth as butter now, even on touchwiz. Quite enjoyable! I just wish the speakers were comparable to my ipad4.. its pretty lousy.

Except maybe for people who are on a budget. The Nexus 7 (2013) is pretty great as well as the Kindle Fire HDX (especially witha custom ROM with Google Apps).

I upgraded from the nexus 10 to this.... I am also not happy about the dedicated home screen button... my nexus had a digital home screen button that was always at the bottom of the page.... why note 10.1? why????

Agree 100% with the video. Hoping they can optimize the Exynos cpu in a future update else I may just be returning this damn tab. The lag and stutters are unacceptable.

The smartest thing a company can try to do is merge together software and hardware. With that I mean making a device with software optimised highly for the hardware so they can work better together so that the device can be faster, stable and more reliable.

Good lord! Why won't Samsung realize how detrimental TouchWiz is to the entire Android experience!!! Why not just include apps with the stock Android 4.3 that are optimized for the S-Pen and the tablet itself instead of slapping on what is basically a mask that impede's their product's full performance potential and stability!? I love my Note 3, but will likely go with a future iPhone release (if screen size is upped) and the tablet I'm buying for myself this Christmas is probably also going to be the iPad Air instead of this. TouchWiz, y u do dis?

Don't forget that most apps like instagram and every Google service available are all web based and can be accessed through a full browser without problem. Of course there aren't as many games on the surface But who cares

Both of those really depend on what you use them for, say for work I need to access data off a flash drive and put it on my tablet. iPad just can't do that. But say for a less technically minded person, the apple products may be better. Neither is simply better then the other :)

Touchwiz...i totally agree with you their greediness is blocking their sight to the future when Google takes back android and apple makes Larger displays their own thus Samsung loses body parts sales they would turn into HTC it's just a matter of time if they don't act in the next couple years

I was dead set on getting this tablet until I played with one in Best Buy. Such disappointing performance, especially coming from a Nexus 10. Such a shame, too, because that screen, form factor, and S Pen would make it a win otherwise.

HD in what area do you mean man? It has 2K Ultra HD in resolution 2560x1600,it is capable of recording 1080pHD with continuous auto focus and forn camera also can do 1080pHD!

I am not sure if your review is intended for professionals or computer programmers, but I think this device is great for average students and people that don't know/care about half of the things you mentioned. You seem like you have very high standards, a bit too much if you ask me.

julecezar213 For a Engineer or Programmer this tablet is a dream come true. I'm a programmer working on Machine Learning stuff, that deals with a lot of Linear Algebra. The tools on this device saves about 5 to 10 hour a week. The math stuff is amazing when using the S-Pen. I love making presentations on it, stuff that used to take me hours in Office, take minutes on the the tables and it looks better.. I have no complaints and this is a must have for any one in the Educational, Science or Engineering field. Oh and I have all of my Notes, Books and research material on the tablet. Its like carrying my office in my hands with more productive tools.
