Lover Of Tech Samsung has been better than iPhone for 5 years now. Why are people still comparing them. Samsung is on its own level. Alone. IPhone just has APPLE so it's easy to get kids to buy it. Abhishek Pathak I like the fact that the screen stretches edge to edge. It’s better than having a black bar at the top. Why would anyone not want more screen space. A huge camera bump....that is eliminated when you put a case on it, and a camera that is by far superior over the Note8. I really like the look of the X. If it had a dumb black bar at the top I would be so annoyed.

flizzy, compared to the i phone 8 the samsung j7 pro is smaller, lighter, has aluminum body, more pixels in both cameras, led in the front camera, bigger Amoled display, more pixel density, twice the battery size, two sim trays, expandable memory, always on display, more cores, more ram, a headphone jack, much more customizable and much more compatible with most electronic devices on the market and it is 40% of the iphone 8 price.....this is not even comparable p.s: j7 pro it is older than than the i phone 8 by a couple of months too..

Coming from several android/Samsung devices including a Note 4, the iPhone is just more smooth and reliable to use. No it may not have all the bells and whistles, but it is so much less of a headache to use. For instance, just to print something from my android devices, I had to download 1-2 apps, click on several things and then it MAYBE printed. With my iPhone 8 Plus, I just hit print and it prints the document every single time...no extra apps, no extra clicks, no headache. Things are just more compatible with iOS. I had so many issues with my Fitbit on my Samsung note. I thought the Fitbit was faulty until I got the iPhone. It syncs and runs perfectly on it...all the features unlike on my Note. Also apps just run smoother on iOS and come out sooner bc it’s easier for developers to make for iOS vs android. I was always upset when I had to wait so much longer for a game or app to come out or update that my sister already had on her iPhone. Then when I’d finally download it on my android, the quality wasn’t as good. Just saying. I still like android for some features, but I will continue to stick with iPhone bc it’s more solid and dependable. Last one I had was the 4s which lasted years and someone is still using it. My Note 4 however had glitches shortly after I bought it. Also as beautiful as those super amoled screens are, the colors fade over time and you risk getting screen burn. It happened to mine within a year. Right now I have ads popping up all through my Samsung tablet that I got just a few months ago. It keeps saying I have no virus and nothing has remedied the situation. Never had that problem with iOS.

I had nothing but iPhones my last one was a 5S but it lasted me two years and died out. One day it just wouldn't turn on, same thing as my 4S. Now I have for 3 years had a galaxy S7 but I kinda want to go back to apple. my mother had a iPhone 6 it's lasted her forever. Do the updates on iPhones affect longevity? my mother's phone she never updates anything and it's lasted forever and been problem free.i used to always update my iPhones maybes that's why both crashed on me?

I have had my Galaxy S8 since April, and it's ridiculous that people supposedly hit the camer when using the fingerprint sensor. I assume it would be possible if its not your standard phone, but after using it for a few weeks I havent actully had a problem with accidentaly touching the camer.

Most of what you said is true, although I've used the S8 for an entire day with normal use and no adjustments. I didn't have any issues. Also, in New England people don't choose phones based off of what it offers. They get drink off Apple and stay with it despite what other devices offer. I've recommended the Google Pixel to tons of people and they still refuse it stating "Apple has them locked in".

The thing is, I was just like y’all bagging the iPhone. I had been an android fan for so long. I had my Samsung s3 for 3 years and then I tried an iPhone. I was stuck with it to finish off the payments and hated every bit of it because it limited me on so much. But it taught me how to be minimalistic. I bought an s8 after 2.5 years of having an iPhone. 6 months into my s8 and its already having app crashes, various things not fully loading, etc. I had none of those issues with my iPhone (never updated its firmware). I love, love, love the features and capabilities of the s8. I love how I can cast without attachments and other apps, I love google, the easy access of apps and its customizations etc. you get so much more for your money out of androids. HOWEVER, iPhones just last. No lag. It’s so fluid. It’s just limiting. As far as longevity, it’d have to go with an iPhone.

Both phones are good, they're just designed for different users. IPhones are the way to go for very young children, they need something simple and restrictive. IPhones are also great for 'Grandma's first phone,' it's perfect for Nan'nah because it's literally impossible to be confused by an iPhone. For everyone else there's Android, you can customize, add widgets, use various launchers, basically all the features that people with high enough IQ's to make a sandwich will demand.

I appreciate your point Mr. Fanatic, I had an iPhone 2 back in the day and I really liked the almost Zen approach to design. iOS was also beautiful and easy to use. The problem for me was that after the iPhone 2 I got an iPad and then an iPhone 4s. Each time I opened the box I was sooooo excited for my new phone/pad but once I turned it on I was disappointed, they really didn't feel new at all. After that I switched to Android, I just couldn't stand buying another 'high end' device just to have the EXACT same experience I did 6 years ago. I can totally see how someone would be blown away by apple if they hadn't used them before, but trust me when I say that the very next iPhone you get will disappoint you when you see that it literally evolves in no way whatsoever.

Kevin Schmevin was an iPhone OG (one of man’s greatest inventions and has revolutionized the world we live in today) user, then 3GS, then iPhone 4 (the best phone for its generation). Converted to Android with the S3 because I wanted a bigger display. Quickly assimilated the root/ROM/kernel/xPosed scene and fell in love. Then S4, Note 3 (awesome phone), iPhone 6+ (because bigger display, but returned because Android still had bezel to screen advantage especially Note series and I still had use for the s-pen, and loved the removable batteries), Note 4 (awesome phone), 6p, S7 edge, and now iPhone X (one of my fave phones along with Note line, iPhone 4, and OG iPhone being my all time favorite-no other phone has blown me away like the OG iPhone did). Granted I skipped iOS 7 when they made the skeuomorphic design change to current design. I was just like you when it came to my views on iOS-same static row of icons, no back button, can’t download pirated stuff, no widgets or live wallpapers (both slow down and drain your phone, but u know this), can’t connect as USB storage device etc. But, I was slowly starting to get bored of Android, I know the irony. You can transform your home screen to beautiful ones as many times as you like, add gestures, target apps on lock screen, swipe top to adjust brightness without pulling down notification shade etc. for example, but that doesn’t alter the way the operating system works intrinsically. It’s still Android at its core. So I got bit bored but seriously Apple’s implementation of gesture based navigations and FaceID tech is next level. I expect Android manufacturers to follow, and fingerprint sensors to slowly disappear. Also iOS UX and aesthetics speak to me more than Android at the moment. However if Android makers came out with a badass phone hardware wise, I’d jump ship again. That’s how close iOS and Android are. I love them both, but you’re right I’m in the honeymoon phase so to speak with iOS and am starting to see some small advantages of iOS over Android. Plus I’m done with tinkering and wasting my time.

I'd get an S8, since my S5 has lasted me 5 years, (bought it the day it came out). I have to go with an iPhone though cause I need to easily transfer files or edit then between my macbook too. It's annoying having to keep uploading onto Google Drive, and then downloading the file from another device.

The iPhone can't run a single app in the background with it's RAM and as such idle is only consistent of the OS and scheduled runs for notifications. In a consistent test between the two devices the iPhone will die first every single time simply because it's an IPS based device with a tiny ass battery. Of course, the battery drain of background apps on the S8 can be mitigated completely by preventing apps from running in the background, and if other minor features are excluded then the S8 can achieve upwards of 7-8 hours of screen on time, nearly my entire workday. An iPhone will certainly lag behind.

Perhaps the initial cost is lower but I think a HUGE factor to consider and that is understated is that Samsung phones gets major software updates for a maximum of around 2 years whereas iPhones are around 5 years. For example, iPhone 5s, released in September 2013 is able to get the latest iOS update now. Samsung Galaxy S4 from March 2013 has not updated generally after lollipop 5.0.1 - early 2015. Even the S5 (released: April 2014) hasn't been updated since early 2016 (6.0.1, Marshmellow). It's all personal preference but for me, the fact you get updates slower and only for around 2 years is unacceptable id rather deal with the downsides of iPhones and know that it will updated for longer. Look at the pros and cons and choose what you prefer IMO. Peace.

BOURNE15ive Well for ME it is acceptable. The clock speed is reduced when battery consumption is below a certain level. It can easily be replaced if necessary for ATM £25 or normally £79 every couple of years depending. Whereas on android you have to pay hundreds to buy a new phone every 2 years to keep up with the latest updates ATM. AGAIN: Im not saying iPhones are best, I am pointing out an aspect that is rarely mentioned. Each to their own. I'm happy google will be updating Pixel 2 for 3 years - progress.

Switched to iPhone 8plus when my galaxy s7 got some pretty bad screen burn in. Never had an iOS device till now and can honestly say both Samsung and iOS are not perfect. I like the battery and ecosystem of iOS and the customizability of android I will take FaceTime over any 3rd party video call service. With that being said a phone is a phone lol both work! P.s went with 8+ over 10 because didn’t want to spend that much money and possibly have burn in issues because Samsung made the display

Jesse K Apple has the best displays to prevent burn in and they would probably replace it for free if it does burn in. In the UK, Apple uses the 4 year consumer law.

AAO 786 yeah I didn’t realize how good their customer service was Until I broke my screen 10 days after getting the phone and it only costed me like 30 bucks to replace when I had to pay over 150 to get the Samsung screen fixed

I agree I just switched from s7 edge to Iphone 7 plus because of screen burn on my s7 edge I was always Android user and always bought apple for my wife she never got problem, I got pink line on my s6 edge and now screen burn and I got some friends who are ready to exchange with my iPhone 7 plus 128gb which was used 1 year and s8 (4month used) was my dream phone when it came out and I found same screen burn problem on KZbin for s8 aswell so after long thinking I said no to my friends. And now I feel safe with iPhone.

Problem is that now that they tend not to pull the "get a free phone when you sign a two year contract", that they offer installment plans, far better to buy the plain unlocked version at Best Buy or such. Then go to your carrier and get it activated. After that, you get the OS updates when Samsung puts them out, not your carrier. Plus, if you decide to switch carriers, say from T-Mobile to Verizon or Sprint you can as the phone is not locked to one carrier. You can also go to prepaid with ease like Straight Talk or Freedom Pop or such. No unlocking needed. I just bought mine a week ago and it had Nougat out of the box, but immediately upgraded to Oreo after I turned it on and set it up.

The S8 comes with multiple random apps that most people barely use, and it's whole interface and experience can be personalized which people barely get into maybe they do it about 50%. For instance when I modified the notification settings, deleted certain useless apps that use background processing and edited some developer mode options it really does get me through the day and I don't even need to charge it 100%. Also using device maintenance keeps it running as fast brand new in my experience.

Personally I find the taller aspect ratio that the S series brought was dumb extra weight at size for a slightly larger display. Not only was it more uncomfortable in the pocket as it was longer, it also made the overall phone look weird. That’s just my opinion though.

The reason why no Android phones do 4K60 is all to blame due to Qualcomm, the SOC inside the S7 Edge can process 4K60 and the SOC inside the S8 can process 4K120. They don't enable this because they don't want more fragmentation, the SD835 only supports 4K30.

You said in the video people don't pick up phones based on software. Sorry, but I did lol. I'm kinda past the hardware phase, because most of the time I'm doing the same thing on them over and over again, and the power of these devices are never fully used. Texting, WhatsApp, going on twitter, etc etc. I could do that with the first iPhone lol. My LG G6 died for some strange reason, and it was starting to lag pretty badly, and when I went to turn it off it froze on "ON/OFF" until the battery died and it wouldn't charge or turn back on. So I bought an iPhone 8. I gave my iPhone 6s to my mother and that thing is still going strong. Heck, I see people with iPhone 4s still, and no, not the SE the actual iPhone 4s who love its design and still use it. I love Android too. Both have great OS's. However, I know from personal experience in having and using both of these operating systems throughout the years, that iOS is by far the more superior operating system. People think it isn't complex, but in reality, the UI/UX design is a form of art, and the accessibility of it has nearly been perfected. I've actually really missed iOS, and I think after a couple of years I'll no doubt go back to android. But iOS, for now, is the king in my book. But still, you don't realise what you missed until you have it in your hand again.

I’d go back to Android if I thought they had a better phone hardware wise than the X. It has pretty much best in class everything except still camera and battery life. It could use more RAM too since I never close my apps at all, and I do get app refreshes if I haven’t used a particular app in awhile.

Usman Tariq software is pretty good. Battery life for LG v30 is a bit better than my s8. Usually battery life depends what settings you have or how you use your phone.

Usman Tariq Anyone in my family can have any phone they choose. BTW at this point I'd wait for the LG V30+ Alpha, that said the following... We have the LG V30, Note 8 and iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus. My wife's Note 8 hard locks weekly requiring the volume down + power then the scary bootloader to select restart normal .. if you bump a button Factory Reset is your reward. The iPhone X is the only choice if you like iMessage. However, I have the V30 and no Lags (frankly it's a Samsung rumor) and my battery lasts the longest and I use the crap out of my phone and I've had zero issues. BTW my last phone was the Note 5 and that's after 2 failed Note 7's. My wife's reason for the Note 8 was purely for the S-Pen, in fact I also bought the larger S Pen Stylus .. because she has long nails.

Pocket now, why do y'all skip things about Samsung? Updates is not the only thing that's wrong with it? Longevity doesn't exist. Which phone would be able to last longer? This is never mentioned. If you're going to buy a $700+ phone, it needs to be able to last. Of course you can just upgrade whenever you want but some people don't like to upgrade a lot. It's time consuming and it's sometimes a waste of money because it's not even worth paying another $700+ for 3 new features and most likely a design that won't change.
