Bought this recently at Best Buy for $200 bucks. At this price it was a no brainer. You get a lot of tablet for the money. After seeing it in person, a few friends are going to scoop one up also. Got the 16gb and bought a 32gb SD card to add to the memory. I'm loving it!! 😎

I'm sick of tablet makers thinking people only use it in portrait mode.. Honestly, who even uses portrait mode? I mean, i get it looks like a book that way but widescreen is the thing now and landscape makes much more sense. Ive had every iPad since the first one and i never use it in portrait mode. EVER...

I gues portrait mode makes more sense in 7-8 inch tablets. I handle mine that way when I'm reading. And let's not forget that certain games, such as Minion rush, only work in portrait mode.

I primary use my ipad mini in portrait mode, again mostly for reading and web browsing. not to mention that certain apps just use the space much for effectively in portrait.

I've played with this tablet at the Samsung store. I noticed no lag. Screen was beautiful as well. Form factor is great as well. I wish it was around the $350 mark though. Overhaul a great tablet in my opinion.

Yeah it looks like it would be a great device, though the price is a little steep. If you haven't already, you should check out the Nexus 7. I got one at the beginning of the year and it's really been a fantastic tablet. I haven't looked at prices recently but mine was $199. It's the wifi only model but I have mobile hotspot on my Note 3 so it doesn't matter.

Retails for almost €400 (incl. tax) in the EU which is a bit too much for an 8.4" device regardless of its specs. I'll give it a shot when its price tag is closer to €300. While Samsungs multi-window approach is awesome on +10" tablets it's a bit more iffy on 8" screens. I'm not offended by occasional stutters though SW stability should be top notch and apparently Samsung has to iron out some kinks yet. Currently the LG G Pad 8.3 seems a legit alternative.

I dont know why people hate samsungs TW that much. I tried custom roms but I still go back to the rooted stock deodexed and debloated. And samsung has been first in a lot of things. One example is once your in an app and you swipe down the upper part the notification bar appears. Their toggles is a better implentation which was then copied by kitkat. Learn to look at both sides. Samsung has its bad sides but there is root and customize your phone/tablet to your liking. Peace.

Actually we have both the Ipad and Ipad 2 at home and they are wonderful tablets (battery and size wise) but I need something with an SD card. I would like to own an Android tablet and right now is very confusing with all the models and everybody's personal opinions that I rather go see them and come to my own conclusion. Good luck everyone on choosing your own products and not letting someone else's opinion affect your decision.

I wish there are more 8+ inch tablets to choose. My wife got a LG G Pad which is nearly ideal. But I want a more powerful processor and brighter screen. Ipad mini retina is not even 8 inch and has 4:3 aspect screen ratio which has much smaller effective screen size for movies. Windows 8 inch tablets don't have hd resolutions yet. Tab pro 8.4 got so much bloat. Maybe I keep waiting.

I have had the Tab Pro 8.4 just over a year now and it is still as fast and smooth from day 1! :) It is really is a great and one of the most powerful Android tablets out there to date. So did you get the Tab Pro 8.4?

Can anyone help me decide on a galaxy tab to buy? I want one that the size isn't so similar to my galaxy note 4 that when I compare them they are about the same size so there isn't much of a difference but, i also don't want one that's like walking around with a laptop screen without the keyboard.

What SAMSUNG needs to do is bring back the Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4. This thing has everything you would want in a tablet. If only they kept upgrading the specs and screen I would have bought the next gen of it. Instead they went with a Tab S 8.4 with that ugly Galaxy S5 backing. This tablet feels premium with faux leather. I put CM 12.1 (Android 5.1.1) and its a speedy tablet. I paid $350 for it when it first came out and wouldn't mind doing so again. There's a market for people who have a cheap phone and want a very good tablet ya know! What SAMSUNG could do to upgrade the Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4: 1. Same resolution screen but make it Super AMOLED. 2. Upgrade the Rear Camera to 13 MP and add slo-mo features. 3. Upgrade the front camera to 5 MP 4. Dual-LED Flash 5. Fast charge compatible 5. 3GB or 4GB of Ram 6. Fingerprint Scanner 7. Latest/Fastest Soc chip 8. It is thin enough, no need to compete with Apple 👎.

Dude no trolling here. Samsung's colour gamut is terrible. Not even closet to being accurate/true to life. Samsung has the opinion that the more colour and saturation the better irrespective of accuracy. This same philosophy goes right across there range from phones to TVs...When you see an accurate screen and then a Samsung screenyou will see how terrible their screens are...

Just because their color gamuts are wider than normal doesn't mean that are horrible. High saturation is a property of AMOLED displays. And while watching movies im pretty sure you would want eye popping colors and not washed out ones. Need to take a pic, switch modes. To give you an idea Sony's Triluminous displays are LCD's and yet they purposefully oversaturate it to get vivid colors using software boosting.
