Today, Kurt breaks down Caleb Williams All-22! Caleb is often viewed as the BEST QB prospect in recent years, is that true? Kurt taps in and breaks it all down.

I think you just given the best example of why Caleb Williams should have a "Buyer Beware" tag attached to him. He tries to make every single play a splash play. He doesnt play within the system. He doesnt make decisions quickly. Beyond his raw physical abilities its hard for me to see why he'd be the 1st pick.
@mihnic05042 ай бұрын
The haphazard foot work. I’ve been saying it and it’s going to affect his ability to throw into tight windows in the short and medium game. It won’t matter though since he’ll have 2 top 10 receivers and TE’s. It’s all about the the team mechanics and not just the individual.

problem with that 3 pick game was... its the closest to what Caleb will see in the NFL.. D line prssure.. tight receiver coverage.. where "off schedule" play ability gets completely exploited in the NFL..
@feastmode79312 ай бұрын
@@foreverfree3953 - you can't really compare. if you want QBs who beat "NFL-level defenses" in college, congrats, you've drafted Mac Jones, Stetson Bennett, and T-Law. the reality is that ND was simply a much better constructed team than USC in 2023. unless you think Caleb's o-line in the NFL is going to be as porous as USC's, or think that the quality of receivers he'll have in Chicago is lower than at USC (Brendan Rice was our best WR, which is... it's fine)... unless you think that, the idea that ND is "the closest to what Caleb will see in the league" is just not a fair comp

He’s got the tools to be great, he’s not the best QB prospect ever or “next Mahomes” he’s not better than Luck, Burrow, or Lawrence coming out imo. But he’s elite. I just think he’s better than the other QBs, buts he’s not one of these generational guys. Although I’m high on him but not as high as others I think the Bears would be foolish not to bring him in, he’d easily the best prospect they’ve ever brought in no doubt.

I agree he makes big plays when there doesn't need a big play he just needs to go through progressions and take what is there. Will see if he can fix it in the NFL.

Kurt is saying what I was thinking watching Caleb this year. He's got a couple minor issues that a good QB Coach can iron out. And honestly I want him to sit behind an established starter for a year at least.

You’ve gotta take into account he’s been playing like this his entire life, it’s built into him at this point. You’re lucky if any of it is fixable.

@@randy2152 so did Mahomes. Except Mahomes had more issues, Mahomes was a disaster waiting to happen if drafted anywhere that wasn't stable. Great breakdown, My biggest fear is that he wants or feels like he has to make a highlight play every down. The biggest throws. The biggest scrambles. I know nothing about the guy, and I don't know if this is scheme or him. But a general theme I saw watching USC last year was we're going big, relying on his legs to extend the play, and he either bombs it, scrambles, or checks down to his RB if those two options are gone.

I don't think he'll be perfect coming out like you said he's gotta clean up the footwork a bit and in his other games I've noticed him not taking the easy throws in favor of the big plays. I think he's going to Chicago so he'll have better weapons than he had at USC so he has a little more room for error there.

You keep saying he doesn't have to be a savior, the guy he is replacing threw for 2500 yards 16 TD and 9 INTs in his prove it year. Next we drafted a tackle top 10 last year, we might do it again this year, Tevin is ther we paid for Davis and we probaby get Van Pran. We will get a WR from trading JF and the new QB will have a great O Line, DJ and Leggetee or Devontez, and Kmet who we paid. Caleb is going to be walking into a great situation. I am sick of people acting like we are not trending in the right direction.

Im almost certain williams isnt the #1 pick. Tbh if the bears are smart they trade the #1 for capital and draft MHJ. Williams has a issue with his reads. He misses a lot of open recievers on the back half of his reads. And causes him to have to do those scramble drill playmaker plays. Which is good. But the reason hes having to do that. Is very bad
