Back when the POCO F1 was released, it was suppose to be the budget phone with awesome specs. Nowadays we have so many expensive high spec POCO phones and so many mid range budget POCO phones. So sad seeing what the POCO brand has become, just another China branded phone company releasing so many versions of their phones to the market.

In my opinion - from a business perspective it makes sense to rebrand an old phone as a newer model. Sure, save some money on development and make it feel fresh. But from a business perspective, having a zillion different models with varying hardware using a tiny team like Xiaomi has is just bonkers. Quality goes down the toilet, consumers are confused and brand is diluted into oblivion.

Realme started this trend of releasing phones ever alternate month and it has now made every other company do the same and make unreliable phones. The problem with new phones releasing frequently is that, you end up loosing good software support and parts won't be available for service. Only option left is to buy a new phone after a year. In past all Xiaomi phones could be unlocked and all had custom rom support. Now that's a rare thing.

@@fritzkier redmi 8a still gets custom rom, redmi 9a and 10a , i haven't been able to unlock market specific models running mediatek processor successfully. And even if unlock was possible, with lots of models selling in fewer quantity there isn't My insensitive for developers to make custom roms and , if you go to a service centre to get a replacement part, either there is a long waiting period or parts cost a lot of money, causing the person to rethink fixing their phone that no longer gets stable updates for a newer model.

@@fritzkier phones specific to indian market don't get updates, it's usually the global models running snapdragon that gets miui global / cn and other custom roms. Redmi note 10 pro is getting updates sooner than indian or cn redmi note 11 series

I loved my Poco F1. It was a workhorse. The only thing missing was NFC, and the large bezels. When they came out with the F3 I ordered it as soon as it came out - WORST decision EVER !!!!! This phone sucks, and they know it. The proximity sensor does not work. The screen stays on when it is in your pocket, and if you do not remember to lock the screen you will get phantom touches. Sometimes when the phone is in my pocket and I get a phone call, the screen will unlock, and god knows what will get pressed.

5G has been around for 3 years now. I can't believe companies are still releasing 4G ones especially as in many countries the 2G and 3G networks are being shut off meaning you'd have to rely solely on 4G signal

From mediatek, G99 has Hardware Warping Engine (EIS), just like G95. So maybe it's not enabled or software needed to be optimized.

If people really are as stupid as these businesses believe then surely such a product will sell tens of millions? Of course in reality they know that isn't true.... Honestly if it was like a 16MP or 12MP secondary sensor with reasonably large sensor size for the price then I'd let them off, but to be clear we all know that wouldn't be cost effective, so why don't they instead spend the money and space used for that secondary 2MP sensor on a second MicroSD Card slot? But the other side of the spectrum its also hilariously sad, there's a 200mpx phone out there that takes photos that look like shit, has the sensor but cannot even use it properly. Companies who do shit like that should disappear because they don't bring anything relevant to the market. Every single company should release, per year, a maximum of 3 phones... A budget, a mid-range and a flagship and then focus all their time and resources on making an OS worth something aka the complete opposite of what xiaomi does. I have a redmi note 10 pro and a xiaomi 11t pro, both have the casting broke for over 6 months now.. You see lag and all kind of weird bugs like dolby vision not working properly or the ldac codec breaking without motives and only getting in back after a restart and then it can break in 5 minutes, 5 hours, 5 days or 5 weeks but one thing it's certaint, it will break because it's miui. And why is miui such a mess? It's bloated and needs to be used in like 300 different phones that they released in the last 3 or 4 years. That way it's impossible to do anything.

The software is so aggressive on closing apps, like what's the point of having floating windows mode if even having music playing in the background while playing a relatively light game like RAID on the lowest settings makes the OS flip out and end either/or both programs. Sometimes even playing music while locked and idling gets nuked. Why did I even bother buying a FOUR GIGABYTE RAM phone, my moto g6 did way better with just 3 GB
