Take a closer look and make sure you have 1080 or 4K turned on and you'll see that the Poco images are much softer.

Yes there's day and night difference in poco X3 vs pixel. Pixels shots are sharp, detailed, and even in video recording at night, pixel manages to gather more light. But gcam in poco X3 will make things better

@@bletwort2920 How can u not see difference. I think u have never used poco/redmi phone. That's why. The background in poco phones are always washed out, the face if makes whitish and smooth, whereas just look at face in pixel, he looks like a man, whereas in poco, the beautification and too much white tone. In daylight, just look the way pixel colors pop out, it doesn't mean they are oversaturated, it means poco doesn't has that kind of exposure. But but, considering pricing and GCAM is supported on poco, so it will be able to capture shots similar to pixel phones.

This is what I've been waiting for. If poco can compete to the one of the best well known camera phone (pixel's). I think poco is a little bit behind the pixel. But for the price. You can't go wrong with the poco. :)

The one things I see though is that the Poco X3 NFC doesn't capture quite as much detail. The color and exposure are fine, but the images are all just a little too soft.

System update would fix some of poco's including camera but it would not for sure have the Pixel's camera quality. I own pixel phone. And i love it. But it also has issues that can't fixed by their system updates

Two main takeaways from this Comparision: 1. Selfie cam on Poco may have better dynamic range but it is a blurry mess on human subjects and trees as well. 2. Average People don't need a $700, or $1000 smartphone to capture daylight, family or landscape photographs, But as far as Videos & Night photography is concerned, there are few winners in the market which might not be budget friendly like Pixel 4a (Nightsight) or iPhone SE (Videography) Glad poco didn't over saturate in most of the daylight captures and few surprises in Night mode as well

My Poco X3 NFX is coming in the next few days and I already had doubts - probably the camera is no so good. The pixel camera takes the better pictures in most cases. But the Poco is not so bad. In some situations I like the Poco better. With the films I see this surprisingly Poco in the advantage. Considering that the pixel doesn't cost twice as much (199 - 349), this is a remarkable achievement for the Poco.

Well, the price gap between the Poco X3 and the Pixel 4a is smaller than you think. It annoys me that people only state the "Flash Sale" price of the Poco X3. In reality the Poco X3 is around $300. And I greatly overpaid for my Poco X3 since I wanted to buy it instore, and not from some Chinese retailer with a 1 month shipping time (I could have easily saved 100€ that way).

Nah even when its turned off its really washed out, my dad has a note 8 pro and my mom has a note 9 pro, both of them just lack detail lol. They also tend to oversharpen the pictures to compensate for the softness, but it just makes the picture look really unrealistic (all that sharpening doesn't help btw). Not to mention that nearly all of the photos taken are overexposed. Just stick to GCam lol

To compare the 2 we're going too need gcam on the poco. With the standard software there is no comparison for about 80% of the shots for me. Clarity, detail and sharpness of the Google phone way ahead, video better stabilized although dynamic range seemed much of a muchness to me.

Great work man, on most pictures you really have to look for the differences (watching at 4k), for such a budget phone, the Poco has decent-good picture quality, on day shots... sometimes you even see, that the Pixels 12MP Sensor isnt enough but yes, the Pixel is alot sharper right now. Would love a comparison between the Poco X3 with Gcam and the Pixel 4a ;) ps. the normal price (without the early bird bonus) is 239€ instead of 199€ for the 6/64 version! Still awesome value.

The Poco is just a little short of equaling the 4a. There are just some odd software choices which hinder the performance, the skin smoothing effect is a big one.

A $189 phone vs $399 in my country Poco wins in terms of value and the camera are not too shabby compared to the yesteryears..i recommend the poco x3 to my lil bro just because of its gaming prowess,but my dailydriver is the OG ip se..hopefully more 5-6 inch phones out there to be used as daily driver

Despite the comparison I noticed something amazing about Poco night mode that it reduces the extreme lights/beams in the picture which I like, cause night mode must not be only brighten the dark, but darken the bright is very useful in many situations.

I would say it depends on personal preferences.. front camera in poco x3 is so so. But the rear camera I would say tie.. it some situations, the poco x3 produced better photo.. this is based on my personal eyes..not sure about others.. but human is always bias..haha Poco X3 NFC has ultra wide cam, which for me is more handy compared to pixel 4a

The pixel is better in every way but i do think that for a stock camera at least on good lightning the poco holds its ground against the pixel, it loses on dynamic range and textures but it isn't absolutely terrible. What i could see was : Poco X3 : 1. Kinda of an haze or fog effect on daylight photos 2. The dynamic range ins't as good and there is some highlight and shadow clipping. 3. Sometimes on HDR images the shadows aren't well protected and the whole picture looks washed out, without constrast and hazy. 4. Night shots has a bit of noise and it has the habit to soften some textures, losing them in the process. Also some spots on shadows aren't well exposed as they should, completely losing what was supposed to be there. 5. The "beautify" algorithm doesnt turn off, selfies look unnatural, we can't see details on his face, sunspots gone and sometimes it looks like a yonger or a diffent person. It can do a pretty good job for a stock camera, since this is going to be a famous phone out there, a lot of developers are certanly going to make a Gcam port for the poco x3, having an 732G just makes it even more easier. Probably with gcam this phone shots can look absolutely perfect and being half the price of an budget 400 dolars phone.

Tbh I have used many gcam ports on my X3 NFC and I always felt that I didn't get as significant boost for everyday photography as I did on my last phones. Now I get it, MIUI camera libraries are getting there, yes the astrophotography is much better on Gcam but anything with a shutter time less than 2 seconds, Poco seems to be just as good with MIUI camera. Including nightmode, I have a sign board some distance from my window, at night with gcam the highlights aren't suppressed so it's unreadable, on MIUI camera, almost all the letters are readable but there's some noise reduction distortion also going on along the contrasty edges. And yes I do wish I could turn off the skin smoothening 😂 Last, Poco's cameras has 2 issues 1. Poco Front camera is actually quadbayer and produces 5MP shots that aren't good. The files are saved in 20MP format but it's actually worse than entry level 8MP cameras 2. Main camera lens on poco had light flare issues, especially at night the light sources spread out too much, camera has hard time focusing and light leaking into pixels makes for smeary details

X3 does well enough there and I would gladly use it, but most of my photos are not done in ideal light and situations. What these tests don't show, it's the Pixel ease of use and consistency. I recently sent my Pixel to warranty and by using other phones I realized how much I'm missing its features. I felt so spoiled.

Pixel is sharper, but has overexposed video with sunlight. Besides Selfies (which I don't care) Poco on average has a bit less quality on dayshots, but clearly destroys the Pixel with Nightmode! I would definitely go with the X3, especially for this price!

Pixel 4a has one of the best cameras out there in total, and many compare it even with flagship phones. As you know MegaPixels are to be put in use if you want to crop or zoom your photo. If you are shooting for Instagram for example, you really don't need that many MP, 12 are more than enough. Poco X3 stands very descent in front of 4a, and in my country at this day it's half the price. Also if you really love photography I would suggest a dslr camera, or to familiarise with using lightroom, a free program to edit your phone photos and make them look REALLY good. So POCO X3 it is!

Honestly it's a toss up for me. Sure, the 4a is better at stills by a bit, but the X3 absolutely crushes the 4a with video recording on the main camera because of stabilization. Regarding microphones, I think it's up to the user. The 4a obviously is focused on capturing voice, which can be a good or a bad thing depending on your taste. Personally, I like the 4a for stills and audio but I have to go with the X3 because the video stabilization. It's just a bigger factor in my use case.

From this video I'd say Video stabilization is better on X3 Image quality 4a Night photography 4a Skin tone 4a Shallow DPOF 4a Zoom X3 Color accuracy 4a HDR 4a Dynamic Range 4a Noise X3 (bad) - night photo Object separation 4a Macro 4a Audio 4a is better. I'm not saying X3, F3 has bad camera. Just Pixel line up has superior image processing. If you may pick X3, F3 pixel ROM or GCAM should make it better than stock ROM. Just my 2c

The major is issue is that Poco is let down by it's pre-installed camera app - it just doesn't do the hardware justice - download gcam app instead and the difference is striking - in a good way!

Here's a perspective for you.. In India poco x3 costs 18k rupees that too for 8gb 128gb version and sweet spot is an Indian version comes with 6000mAH battery unit.. And pixel 4a costs 34k for 6gb 128gb.. So basically you can buy poco for half the price of pixel 4a.. Yup pixel is not as budget friendly as you think 🤔

The poco X3: The selfie camera is very very bad. Absolutely trash. In fact most of the pictures with people as subjects were terrible. But it did much better when shots were taken of the scenery and trees. Sharpness was lacking there as well. I was definitely surprised at the night shots. It did better than I was expecting. Overall. 1. Photo: Pixel mostly better 1.1. Daylight: Poco does shadows better, Pixel for highlights 1.2. Night: Poco's nigh mode I like more than Pixel's; Pixel better in Auto; Poco has more noise 1.3. Pixel's portrait shots are much better 1.4. Pixel has much better detail 2. Video: I liked Poco more, mostly 2.1. Poco contains highlights better, Pixel does shadows better 2.2. Poco 'lags' more, but more stable
