Greetings from France 😀💓. I came upon your video and decided to watch it. A big wowwwzy 🌹 Congratulations 🏆🏆🏆. YOURS IS THE BEST VIDEO I'VE WATCHED and I learnt so much from you in less than 15 minutes. I am a total BEGINNER. I've had my Serger since December 2019 and a bit terrified to change the cones. I don't Sew or Serge much as I am crocheting a 2.50m X 2.00m blanket. Maybe I should try these Serger tips today before I change my mind. Thanks a million for sharing caring and making me smile. Have a great day 👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹💓💓💓💐💐💐

My Janome Magnolia model #7034D now has the most beautifully balanced stitch since I followed your tutorials. I cleaned and oiled my serger after removing thread, needles, presser foot and put in fresh needles, rethreaded with quality thread, and moved the knife position for sewing project using the 5/8" seam allowance guide. Works like a dream! I can thread that baby up from scratch in less then 5 minutes now. So happy.😄 ⚠️IMPORTANT‼️⚠️ I recommend placing piece of paper over needle plate when changing needles so needles can't accidentally fall down hole and get lost forever in the belly of your machine. Retighten screws on needle bar b/c vibration can loosen screws and they can become buried 4-ever in your machine. This tip from a seasoned serger expert I found on a blog, and it cost her a bundle to have her beloved serger serviced. I NEVER forgot what she wrote, and neither should YOU, fellow sewing enthusiasts! Happy serging😊!

Great video, especially explaining the changes that the knife adjustment makes. When you showed the four stitch lengths, you need to correct the last sample stated stitch length of 1, you meant to say 2. (@ minute marker 3.01). Also I was looking forward to seeing the decorative 'ribbon' effect on the front of a garment you made, but didn’t see it. But all in all a very helpful video.

Oh thank you. I for the first time bouth overlook. Nice like new, used one but without maual, and I just now how to use I it. How to change stiches, for what that weels on side. My weel for knife is out side od mashine on the same pleace on left. So I long time didn't know what to do with all that butons ( wheels) on my mashine. 😂 Thank you. I will follow you. Because you are the Best!

Your instructions on threading, blind hem and rolled hem are brilliant. Do you cover picot edging? My machine is the My Lock 204D which seems to be identical to the one you use, but I suspect mine is an older model.

I have a really old New Home serger (still works perfectly) and although much of it looks exactly like the one you are using, mine does not have a knife that has a knob to adjust the width of the cut. Occasionally, I have noticed "tunnelling", depending on the fabric used. So I am wondering, would adjusting the upper and lower looper tension slightly enable me to correct this. I am learning so much from your tutorials and go back to them again and again for reference. Please could you show how to change the knives - for when they get blunt.. How to gather using the serger was brilliant. Thank you.

I like the gathering technique, that's a new one, and will save me so much time. Do you happen to have a video on how to use specialty feet like ruffle feet? I make a lot of ruffles and I just can't quite figure out the ratio. I would love to be able to use it.
@TheJudeJane3 жыл бұрын
Saw your question and as one who uses a Janome serger, with the STANDARD FOOT, you can make tons of ruffles in seconds. Here are the settings: Right and Left Needles: Turn tension disk dials to 9 Upper and Lower Loopers: Tension disk dials on 3 Differential Feed: 2.5 Stitch Length: 4 Hope this helps! Practice on scraps of fabric you plan to use for your ruffles. Adjust needles to lower number to decrease gathers. Remember to put all settings back to 3 when completed for “normal settings” positions.🧵😊🥳Serger party, baby!!!

I have a Janome serger similar to the one used in your tutorial. Do I have to remove the left needle and stitch finger to serge a rolled hem? Thanks in advance for your reply.
@PoconoSewAndVac5 жыл бұрын
Yes, you do need to remove the left needle to do a rolled hem. If your model is similar to the one above, you do not have to be concerned with the stitch finger. However, all machines are different and you will need to consult your manual on whether the stitch finger will need to be removed. Hth.
@TheJudeJane5 жыл бұрын
Pocono Sew & Vac Thank you! My manual does not indicate removing stitch finger, but other videos on KZbin said to. Since you gave correct threading instructions (as opposed to those in my manual), I thought perhaps they missed this step.LOL! Good to know I only need to remove left needle!😊Thanks so much for the quick response. Since I used YOUR threading instructions instead of those in my Janome manual, I have had beautiful success! You're my hero!!🏆👍🏽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💖❤️💙💜💗💝💚💛

Do the Janome sergers have an LED bulb or a regular bulb? Thank you.
@PoconoSewAndVac7 жыл бұрын
Most have a regular bulb that can be swapped out with a brighter, whiter LED bulb. We have replaced the standard bulb with an LED on the machine used in the video.
