If you are not afraid of small spaces, there's a new way to beat the high rents we pay in the Bay Area. Kiet Do gives us a look something happening in Palo Alto called "pod living."

This is what happened after locals repeatedly denying new homes, decades after decades, at the center of the tech boom. Palo Alto is nice and quiet but it disgusts me.
@ocean64622 жыл бұрын
The way the locals have a cartel on housing production is unethical and theft. we should pass more state laws that take away local control of land use and allow more housing production. Exempt infil housing from CEQA and pass sb 6 and sb 50 to allow more mixed use development on commercial zoned land. Plus create social housing, pass ab 2053. If you're in California please contact your reps in support of these prohousing bills!

@@ocean6462 Why don't you offer a few some space in your house? More and more and more come to California because there are no restrictions. Now they can steal up to $1000 and walk right out of the store. If someone does a heinous crime, he/she might be arrested but will be out the next day cause there is no bail. People living off of the system is theft! And crime in LA and San Fran is already out of control. Who wants that living next door? If you watch these videos of people getting evicted, they always have an excuse for not paying rent and/or are living in places which they obviously can't afford. When did personal responsibility become s dirty word?

And a calculated mortgage of $15,500 per month. So splitting that rent 14 ways for $800 doesn’t seem so bad. If anything, I’d want to drive the cost more and put even more pods in the house for a lowered rent of $400. In an area that’s got some high cost of living, you could do really well and not be pressured by rent as much.

NO that sucks, 800 a month to cluster up???? rent a tiny home and keep it to yourself this is NONSENSE I could see it if it was like 400 bucks to put up with others snoring and farts... but it is damn near like sleeping in the same bed so screw that.
