Hello Friends! I enjoy watching your podcast while I’m knitting or sewing. Dinah--GO to the retreat!!! Two years ago we went to Texel (pronounced tessel) during a cross-country bike and boat tour. Sparkle yarn management… Put your ball in a Ziploc bag and close it up almost all the way, but allowing just the strand to come through. Then you can throw it in your knitting bag with the other balls of yarn.

If you love stuffed artichokes you should make a stuffed artichoke casserole. I use either frozen or canned artichoke hearts (whatever you have at your grocery store will work) breadcrumbs, fresh parmesan cheese, fresh garlic, lots of olive oil, mix all the ingredients together (measure with your heart) place in a casserole dish and top with fresh grated mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350 until the mozzarella cheese is melted and a little browned (that’s how I like mine at least) it’s delicious and tastes exactly like stuffed artichoke without all the extra work. Bon appétit.

My most worn garment is a drop sleeve over-sized cardigan knit in Drops Air - it pills like crazy, but it is so light and cozy and warm - love it!

I handwash all my sweaters but today I just happened to wash my Shipshape which is made from Line. I had soaked it in Soak but then put it into the washing machine for a gentle rinse/spin and into the dryer on low with a thick towel for 10 min just to get it started. It's spread out on my drying mat to finish off. The older I get the more I prefer to wear all my lighter-weight sweaters.

Oh Pam, you’re killing me! I grew up on stuffed artichokes - I make them with chopped mushrooms and black olives, of course breadcrumbs. I saw them in Fresh Market and they were $4.99 each so I passed. I am not making dinner at home. I am invited to the neighbors but I may go and buy one or two for myself. Always fruit and a bowl of nuts on the table for the holidays - in particular hazelnuts, which my mom called filberts and almonds, both toasted in the oven for a few minutes. And of course, Brazil nuts in the shell which were a pain but worth it. Our Italian ancestors must be from the same region. My mom‘s family was from somewhere in Abruzzoand my dad‘s family was from Bari

I wear all my knits. My goal was to have a collection of Cold and warm weather knits and I have arrived to the point that I can wear a knit everyday My fav sweater is Turtle Dove made it in several yarns. Talk about pilling and washing sweaters, I made a lovely Throwover out of Cascade220 and Wave superwash (never used it thought I’d try it )and although I always hand wash I put this super wash sweater in the washer and it looked like garbage after 1 wash. Pill pill pill! Never again. Happy Thanksgiving!

Mine is Beekeeper cardigan. My shawl is Hipster. Love fingering weight pullovers. I wear my 2 Felix cardigans out of Lettlopi all winter as jackets. I wash all my knits by hand.

I always wash to soak by hand and then give it a spin (400 RPM) in the washing machine, in a special laundry bag :)

I hand wash my sweaters, even the super wash ones. I only started knitting sweaters during Covid, so I don’t have as many as you ladies do. My two favorites are the warm-up sweater. I think it’s by petite knit. That is casual. my dressier sweater is Solare by Joji Locatelli. I used alpaca and alpaca suri, it’s like wearing a little animal around, so soft and cozy. When I am with knitters, they always want to pet my arm ha ha

Arne and Carlos said that Norwegians don’t wash their sweaters. They hang them outside during the winter to refresh them. But maybe that’s just Arne and Carlos. 😂

I heard them say that also. Andrea of Fruity Knitting said she doesn’t wash her wool sweaters often. Maybe if needed she washes just under arms, etc.

My go to sweater that I wear the most is LENU by ANKESTRiCK. Knit in Knitting for Olive soft silk mohair and De Rurum Natura Ulysse, one strand each. It is a little warmer than one strand fingering merino with mohair but not super hot, works well under a coat and in my house when it’s a bit chilly but I am trying not to turn the heat up! I love the fit, it is perfect.
