Devon, I have followed your AW career since around 05ish... I love your AW career but hearing stories from your former profession is soo much cooler !! Lol. Love this!!

Says a lot about Devons character that he'd prefer to shed a light on the deeds of his fellow soldiers rather than just talk about his own. I hope he does some day in as much depth as he's willing/allowed, but I hope this keeps up. Came to this channel following him as a fan of arm wrestling, but find myself sticking around because of how good of a father he is, along with this kind of stuff. Keep up the good work and good luck with your next match! Hoping to see you in Chicago

Devon, your podcast is such a great idea. Adding a little different to the menu, really appreciate it. My grandfather fought in WWII in north Norway (in Narvik, where the allies gave Hitler his first defeat), and was a sergeant and a medic. He very rarely spoke about his direct experiences with combat situations, but during his funeral, a life-long friend of his told a long, and very moving story, which really showcased the level of intensity that was going on there. Perhaps here is not the place to go into details of the story. I once met another WWII veteran, randomly, at a bus stop. He was seemingly cheerful about his experiences, although of course mentioned that it was hard. I mentioned that my late grandfather was also a veteran, and he asked where he fought. I said "Narvik", and the old man's smile disappeared quickly, and said "That was a very bad situation..." I'm really grateful for what my grandfather's generation did, and hope we'll never see something like that ever again. Thank you again Devon for sharing these videos with us.

Excellent interview Devon, JC We served at the beginning of your career, I have never forgotten our jumps together and good times, but perhaps you have, as you went on to a full career - Crazy buddy in the thick of it - Listening about the chopper crash and the fire-fight in the valley that's movie stuff. Well done you should be very proud of your service and those you served with.

I hope you do more of these Devon. Particularly on your own career. Ive been so interested as others are I'm guessing. Any chance you will ever sit down with us and tell us about the "non classified" stuff you've been through? If you don't like to speak about it that's ok too. You got a fan down here in Texas.

Awesome podcast Mr. Larratt. I knew a young man, Marc Poulin, who did tours in areas you two talk about - maybe some of your colleagues knew him. Sadly his demons got too much for him and he took his and his girlfriends lives. The military did little for him and actually forbid soldiers attending his service to wear any of their uniforms. I’m proud of you guys and disgusted at the organization.

My dad was also an army medic. He usually talks about how horrible the situation in the warzone which considered normal like, shit lifestyle, shit food and dirty water, really bad restrooms, the terror of living in the jungle. But Never the real scary stuff. I think they dont want to scare us civillians too much; they are the military. They are Supposed to hide terrible things that they witnessed/happened to them from us.. God bless all of them
