I heard a great tip the other day about how to close up that hole a little bit with laddering. When you knit the 2nd stitch from where your laddering is, pull the yarn and really tighten that stitch down. My understanding is that it tighten up the two stitches and pulls up the excess yarn that creates the ladder. I haven't tried it yet, but the gal was really pleased with the result.

Kay's Cross Stitch thanks! I have heard that before and that’s what I do! But somehow I get some laddering still. It does help quite a bit though :)

Loose tension and uneven stitches used to drive me insane! I used to knit continental and had to teach myself English style, and now I'm able to flick...which has made my tension super even and not loose. I had to watch many videos and practice on lots of vanilla socks 😃
