Sensei Greenwood any atemi strike makes ukei stop and think for a few seconds which allows you to perform the technic I see aikido as a capture art any hand or foot that comes forward is delt with I personally feal it should be ranked higher in martial arts since it came from daito ryu aikijujitsu That was born out on the battlefield when this is applied to people who have no idea what's coming at them that's what makes this awsome they just freeze
