Harry Wells is on our village memorial (Herne)., also my great uncle may well be going into the Extension, as he has potentially been found at the hospital site (DNA tests ongoing).

@ I’ve always thought the 1915 battles in general get scant attention, but I have a particular interest in Loos: my great-uncle was wounded on Hill 70 and subsequently died during Third Ypres.

Really enjoyed this, I know this battlefield well. Thanks for featuring the new Lone Tree dedicated in 1995 and the picture of 10th Gloucesters in training. My father John Christian was one of the instigators of the replanting of The Lone Tree. His uncle Reg was killed near Lone Tree.

Maybe this is a question for your Questions and Answers segment on your pod but what’s your opinion on the Linesmen app from Great War Digital? I see JD recently used it on his Arras series.

I’ve been using it since it first came out in 2008. It’s excellent and incredibly useful!

@ Have you ever, or will you, do any air war pods ? I realize the aerodromes were back from the front but the stories as you know are equally sad and amazing as those from the troops. Thx for all the great content

Thank you Paul loved the bit about skylarks. A very professional production. Ps. I recorded the skylarks for BBC "Tweet of the Day" at the Locknagar crater during the centenary.
