I have just listened to this episode and I’m very curious to know more about this topic. I’m 39, soon to be 40, female, non smoker, consider myself very healthy and very active in sports. Developed chilblains about 3 years ago soon after covid came around. It’s recurrent and appears in the mid seasons, when the weather temp is changing. In my case the itchiness shows up after having a morning surf in cold weather. I used to bring a bottle of warm water to warm up after the surf, and perhaps have a hot shower after a cold surf too, which may have been the cause of it, but anyhow. I could talk about it for hours. It’s the most annoying thing at the moment. I had some relief for a years or so through biodynamics and craniosacral therapy. But I might have failed to keep looking after it, I.e avoid warming up the feet with warm water after the surf, and now I have got it back again. Anyway, I’m keen to know more about this condition and how to treat it. Thanks

As a kid my pediatrician was concerned about my bright red and peely fingers and toes. I now know they were chilblains. I also had red-blue mottling and sores on the backs of my arms and sides of my hips/thighs from side-sleeping on cold linoleum. I saw other kids with it so i thought it was normal but my doctor was flummoxed and then didn’t follow up /shrug

chilblains. 😪 I'm 36 very healthy and the last 3 years or so I've been getting chilblains in the winter. I live in Lubbock Texas I'm not out in the cold as much as I used to be. I am very hot natured and my feet are normally hot and sweaty. I take really hot baths and I thought that might be causing this but it never did a few years ago. I really don't go bare foot ever. I had one toe that had a small flare-up and we went to Hawaii for 12 days and it went away completely while on our trip. Three weeks back in Texas I have 2 spots that are tender and red. My Dad and sisters both have had them also every winter. One of my sisters has Sjogren's. My Dad the retired pharmacist takes a baby aspirin every day and says that cured him of chilblains and does other things that are good for you. What do I do? Just move to Hawaii?

Man, that opening picture of the foot. Talk about a little toe. It almost qualifies as a few claw.
