the video is kind of scuffed as i just uploaded as fast as possible to get the info out, you can also beastiary corrupt it to 30% quality so there's no chance of bricking. Also if you get unlucky and it goes below 4link, use the bench to recraft it to 4 link with a few fusings and vaals and go again (it's really cheap).

if you use bestiary 30% quality corruption it can't brick, also the league mechanic could be ok to corrupt it, and for the links you can always bring it back to 4 links with the bench and repeat, it's deterministic, as u can continue repeating 4link > 5 link > 6link if u fail go back to 4.

Honestly don't think it will get nerfed, this looks like exactly how GGG intended these to be used. The item has to be corrupted, either with a vaal orb or by scourging - both methods can brick the item - and then it still has the chance to remove a link. It's the beloved "risk and reward" situation that GGG adores. At max they will maybe revision the chance of removing vs adding a link, but the orb will probably work the same.

Either you're really lucky or it got nerfed. Its like a 1/8 chance to add a socket for me so 1/64 chance if you don't get it on your first try (can't 5 link after that) and at 7c each its WAY cheaper to do it the normal way

I must have the worst luck - I've tried around 20-30 krangled fuses and only once got from 4l to 5l (then bricked all the way back to 2l) Anyone have any idea what the changes are?

you are doing it wrong, if you have a 2link, it means you didn't benchcraft 4link. u can't go below 3link, u only do the last 2 sockets with the tainted fusings. You start with 4, if it goes to 3, u re-craft 4, if it goes to 5, use another fusing.

I hope they can eventually phase out fusings in the game (nobody knows when they are eventually going to release POE2), it's the only ARPG that somehow require another layer of RNG to use a skill. In other games, you get the level, attributes requirements, congrats, you learned the god damn skill.

Sick, there are no beasts on sale AT ALL, so i used vaal orb to hope to not brick with 25%, bricked it ofcourse, then farmed another 1 ex to buy Carcass 6 sockets, bricked ANOTHER ONE to 25%, i wish I never seen this video, my entire league start is fucked now to TRASH rng

What is the odds of losing a link vs gaining with tainted fusings, i did exactly as video showed, sat at 4l with 6 sockets 20% quality corrupted, used 2 tainted and it dropped to 3 link then 2 link... now it seems not even worth saving it with tainted fusings being 6c

no, it's just how the tainted fusing works and the interaction with the bench, that you can always bring it back to 4link with 5 vaal and 5 fusings, so there's only 2 links u need to get to 6l, which is 2 50/50s

from my test it's 50/50, not a huge sample size though as it's day 1, also you can always recraft 4 links with the bench and go again, its guaranteed if u keep going eventually you hit it
